Road bike race (Wilier) 51:09 [4] 31.15 km (1:39 / km)

Criterium race at a new venue in Wangara which has a nice hill finish in it though not steep enough and the finish line only part way up it.
Big fields today and our group had about 30.Did quite alot of work through out the race as thought iam not much chance of winning so i might as well get something out of it.No real breaks appart from one tubby bloke that broke away half way in but no one was worried about him it seemed.Caught him abit later more so as i think he karked it than we ran him down.
Big bunch sprint it was going to be for the finish.A big down hill into a bend then an up hill sprint of some 300mtrs.Up hill suits me but not roaring down hill at 50 odd k's into a bend with 30 others around.Got pretty hairy.Got around the bend ok but pretty far back in the field and with a wall of others around.Got late splits here and there to finish not too far behind the winner for once though still only 9th spot.Need different tactics i think next time.May take off half way up the hill next time on the start of the last lap and see if i can hold on.If others come with me though iam no hope to last a whole lap in front.

Ski Paddle-River (Spirit Ski) 1:40:53 [3]

Midday paddle with Fletch.Started from Banks and headed out along the southern bank to the Narrows then on to up just past the brewery and back down the northern side.Pretty good conditions out.Was hoping for a little rougher on the main part of the river to see how Fletch went.He though seemed pretty steady though did scamper away at a quick pace when a speed boat took off just next to us making some big waves.Thought then chance for Fletch to hit the drink only to look around and find him paddling like a hare 90degrees away, called him yellow.Spent alot of the secound half getting cramps in my toes which was pretty painful. At times both feet were cramping.Couldn't do anything about it but grit my teeth and keep paddling.
Fletch paddling alot faster in his new faster ski so sat behind him for a drag from the trotting track back to banks. Was struggling at times and my toes were curling up and appart.Didn't want him to get away though so kept paddling and screaming.Tried to pass him near the end but didn't have it in me.

Road bike warm up/down (Wilier) 20:00 [2]

Road bike (Quintana Roo) 2:37:41 [3] 87.53 km (1:48 / km)

Freo Bike Force around the river ride.Only a small group of 9 today in the 1st group.Unlike last week though we moved along at a good consistant clip for most of the ride.Lots of good paced roll thrus.Joined up with the Ol Pappas ride in Nedlands and rode back with them to Freo.
Time and distance includes from Woodman Point to Freo and back after.
Was like a cripple getting of the bike at the end.Lower back very stiff.

Swim-Ocean 41:15 [3]

Morning swim from Woodman Point Jetty out towards Woodman Point and back.Bit murky out with all the smoke around so felt like floating bait for alot of the swim. There was a bunch of divers out as well so thought they might be first choice.3mins faster coming back with the wind.

MTB Ride 32:02 [2]
shoes: Specialized Mtb

Short ride to the metro O and then did a few hills, streets around the area as was pretty early.Very muggy out.

Metro Orienteering race 39:50 [4]
shoes: Asics GT-2100

Perry lakes/Rebold hill metro O,had to get 20 of 26 controls.Had a look at an old map few hours before and found it hard then to work a route out sitting down so wasnt going to be easy come turn map time.Didn't start with the best choice of control i think, followed Sten out for the first 4 controls and lagged behind him and wasted alot of time.Worked out a route and stuck with that after the 4th control then took off. This area does provide quite a few ways you can go.Made one bad mistake and headed into no mans lands down a hill which cost me good time and effort.Mis counted as well near the end so had to round up an extra control instead of running straight down Rebold hill and in.Results dont get much worse than getting beaten by Will.tRicky won and in a pretty good time too, spanked us really.Got a crap 4th behind him,Wil and Sten who i tried to run down in the last 500mtrs till he heard me coming.Had used all juice up by then. Not quite sure of my finish time yet in secounds.

MTB Ride 40:35 [3]
shoes: Specialized Mtb

Control collecting after, couple of nice hill climbs and then ride back to car.Was knacked by the end.Out of fuel.

Swim-Ocean 44:22 [3]

Morning swim from Woodman Point jetty down towards Coogee jetty and back.Pretty crap conditions with a howling n/e wind making it choppy and hard.Like a snail one way and flew back the other or floated.

Run 1:06:18 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-2100

Mid afternoon run.Dont think i have ever run for over an hour in +40degree temp.Ran from the south side of Herdsmans over to Doubleview/Scarborough and back.Nice climb up from Woodlands.Should of taken the Hale map, could of done a spot of training on the way back :) Got to see the fires burning at both ends of the run.Poor KP :(

Run 50:22 [3]
shoes: Asics Gt-2090

Midday run in the sun.Wasn't too hot though at this time, easterly wind wasn't too hot.Ran down to North Beach via a look at the house where the lady was stabbed the other day,an interest sake to see if there was a marking on the ground of where her body lay.Anyway on from North beach and up the coast to Marmion anglers club and back the same way.Water looked fantastic and even Fletch and i would of stayed on the ski 100% of a paddle i think?Kept an eye out for any sharks as well as have never seen one in the wild.On the way back ran past the house again for a secound look.Had an interest sake in this though as they were looking for the killer at my work the other day.Horses,helicopters.Even had a look myself with the boss in some bush.Never thought he was here though.

Road bike (Quintana Roo) 2:00:13 [3] 61.18 km (1:58 / km)

Evening fwy ride with the hairy leg bunch.Only 6 of us today, the other soft c's probably thought it was too hot or was going to be.A pretty pedestrian type pace today but was ok.Stopped at the Thomas st servo for drinks on the way back.Perfect conditions on the return with a light sea breeze wind.

MTB Ride 1:30:12 [3]
shoes: Specialized Mtb

Ride from Mt Hawthorn to Woodman Point via Mosman Park,Freo way.Nothing like riding 99% of the ride into a direct wind.Good work out though but hard on the lower back.
