Hike from Gold Camp Rd parking lot to Cameron Cone. Took Captain Jack cutoff to the main trail, Bear Creek Trail to Jones Park, and social trail up the saddle of Arthur and Garfield. From the saddle, skirted the ridgeline to get to the saddle of the ridgeline and Cameron Cone. However, worries about finishing before dark kept my hiking buddy and I from hiking to the summit. Instead, we crested the SE ridgeline coming from the Cone and crossed down some steep terrain to get to Crystal Park, a private/gated community off of Manitou Springs. We took the roads down about six miles, losing about 1300 ft of elevation before getting picked up about a mile inside the gates. Deep snow in many places was the primary culprit for the difficulty of this hike.
