Lipica Open 2011 - day 1

Middle distance Vilenica, so was prepared for the worst ;-)
First two controls quite ok but very careful. I didn't find 3 quickly, mostly (I think) because I didn't see the incision that was in the microlocation. I lost my focus after that and crashed 4 and 5. Very careful, but ok towards 6 and 7.
For 8-11 I got a nice flow, from 11 to 12 I suddenly heard someone screaming like hell. I shouldn't have gone that direction and saw there were others close there but was somehow pulled there anyway. Just before I reached the place the guy just collapsed to the ground and didn't move anymore. Suddenly I noticed his Brezice shirt, and then saw it was Boris Bauman. Luckily it was all less frightening then it looked, and when I asked him if everything was alright (in Slovene), he looked up and answered to my big surprise that that was the case.
I know he's a strong guy and has a zillion years of experience, but still it felt really wrong to leave him there, but that was his wish :-S.
Anyway no need to say that my carefully built focus was gone again.

By the time I got to the finish, I heard that Boris made his way there as well and probably teared a muscle.
