hiking 4:10:00 [3] 13.0 km (19:14 / km) +1100m 13:31 / km

Hike to Goat Mountain. More just an approach and search and rescue action.
We started with the BCMC trail up the Grouse and kept going the ridge around Dam Mountain towards the Goat Mountain. It was Benoit and Rima's first hike when they came to Vancouver, so they wanted to do it as the last hike (for a while) also. There was a lot of fresh snow up on the mountain and crazy cold temperature. You can almost not stop to eat. At the End the trail was just too full of fresh snow to go all the way to the summit, so we stopped before and found a tent with two almost frozen hikers and helped them to take the tent down and hiked with them back to the Lodge on Grouse. They seemed to be waiting for us to come with our headlamps and decide for them to give up on winter camping on lonely ridge and go better back home. Chris Piller came with us and it was actually him who saved their lives, because he asked them if they needed help.

Note

Midnight walk on the water. No, in fact it was the zero tide in Vancouver and we went for a cool walk with Magnus, Rima and Ben to see downtown from different angle. We were there alone. What is the rest of the town doing? Where does all this water go? Because it was only a walk and if to count it into the challenge, it should count more as kilometers on the water, we decided not to count it. And also, we do not have any category walking on the water...in our rules.

hiking 1:20:00 [2] 5.2 km (15:23 / km) +100m 14:02 / km

Night Hike to the Dog Mountain with Magnus, Chris, Anina and the dogs of course. Very nice! We actually got great view, we were above the clouds hanging over the North Shore. Some snow on the ground makes the hike easier.

Nice photos:

orienteering 33:00 [3] 4.5 km (7:20 / km)

A fun WET at Falls Creek organized by Monsieur Turcotte. The last one organized by him, at least for a while....
There was a lot of route choice and I usually took some other one than people in front of me. A lot of muddy and kind of floating grass. Yes a moonwalk is a good description for it. Great! I could run faster. I somehow ran out of energy after 20 minutes.

An evening and night hike with Magnus, Rima and Benoit (and of course Luna and Lila) to the Eagle Bluffs. We got there just for the sunset. Some snow on the top of Black Mountain, but not too much. We hiked back in the dark. Very nice and kind of easy hike, Great!
Some pictures of it here. Nice colour.
