Trail Run 58:13 [3] 10.42 km (5:35 / km)
shoes: Foot Gloves - Vibram

Great escape from work around 2 pm for a run in Fish Creek. Beat the dark clouds and eventual rain...ran in foot gloves and did have some issues with pokey terrain that caused me to hop around a bit. Next day my calves were very sore...

Trail Run 54:08 [4] 10.1 km (5:22 / km)
shoes: Salomon XA PRO

Nice quick run before my meeting. Thought 6 degrees was much cooler than it really was and dressed too warm. Felt good and tried to push a bit. I noted that at the 18minute mark I had only done 3.5kms versus brian's 5kms...and I could see :)

orienteering race 1:33:30 [5] *** 8.0 km (11:41 / km)
21c shoes: Icebugs -

WOW! Nosehill. Great long course set by Marion. We had a map exchange(back) and did very similar controls as first map (I did not even notice that not just one but 2 were actually the same control!! and I was not the only one)....
Anyway - terrible start as i answered nature's call and forgot to punch number one which I remember on the way to 2 so went back. Jason past me on the way back to #2 so i foolishly tried to run harder....needless to say 93 minutes later I was pooped! Did some trail running (especially on the way to #15) and forgot I was orienteering....sure glad when I finally finished.

orienteering race 1:07:56 [5] *** 9.0 km (7:33 / km)
spiked:10/16c shoes: Icebugs -

Great fun in Fish Creek sat am...had trouble with number 2 as I didn;t read the 10 warnings about the scale and kept going to the river early to be surprized my bank wasn't there yet! Hit it around same time as Clarence and sprinted him to 3...haha.
Good to 3 but slower, bobble on the way to 4 (missed the turn off on the trail and ended up running at breakneck speed in a circle back to where I started) where I saw Marion so already I am at least 2 minutes behind her! Could not remember where the allowed fish creek crossing was so ran (at lightening speed this time) to nearest bridge. Off to 6 & 7 - alas Clarence again (thus my feeling of speed)...from 7 to 8 hit the swamps and well, fell in! close to 8 I could see Clarence ahead running effortlessly in the tall long grass (read: I was not). Went past the trail to 9 and saw Clarence coming up hill from it thus no decision on how to get to 10 - down and back up. Lost Clarence until 13 - saw him high on hill. Decided he was nuts and bagged 13 and headed downhill immediately. Saw him again running path to 14 so angled ahead of him and pushed first. Naturally he pasted me going to 15 and all I had to do was "Keep up to Clarence" to the finish....Have I ever uttered more foolish words! Fun run and I made up my lost time on Marion (thanks to Clarence). My garmin said I did 9kms on this "middle of 7kms"

jogging 48:06 [3] 8.06 km (5:58 / km)
shoes: Salomon XA PRO

Nice recovery jog around fish creek. Checked out repairs at Sakome - most trees have been cleared. New fence around lakes I don't remember. Did the two hills on west side for "fun". Wasn't any faster than I remember....Nice to pay hookie from work for morning. Got tonnes of work done when I finally went in (no one there!!)...

orienteering 45:00 [3] 3.0 km (15:00 / km)
shoes: Icebugs -

Course 3 - felt okay down and up the first hill at bowmont but then ran past the first control by 100 meters!!! had to pull perspective back a tad. Caught Molly & Darya at #3 to #4...they took the easy routes around to get to the controls and I went straight thru the green for about the same time. Lesson for me. Molly totally beat me up the last hill to the finish. Thought I had more in me that I did!!!
Fun evening. Perfect running temp too.
