O 1:45:00 [2] **
spiked:6/10c

Pity I can't claim it with a time of "for f*&^ing ever". Two major, major mistakes and two minor mistakes lead to Kirsten being something-something.

Today, I navigated less well than baby!Joe did two years ago (when he was 10). I haven't made mistakes like this since... erm... 2006?

Stuffed up the last control something dire (but completely refused to MP, so kept trying) by getting the wrong path. The map wasn't marked as a parrotbush thicket, but given the variance between the mapped vegetation and actual vegetation, I wasn't surprised to see parrotbush thicket in 'rough-open ground'. So I went through it 5 times. That would be something-something cranky.

APART from all that, it was really pleasant. Jorgneson treated me very well and if I'd had the inclination to run, I would have had a really enjoyable time. It's nice when Kalamunda NP is less steep than my C25K 'runs'.

Swimming 19:30 [3] 0.7 km (27:51 / km)
ahr:141 max:160 shoes: Swan Aquatic

Swim. Felt pretty good.

Water Walk 12:07 [2] 0.5 km (24:14 / km)
ahr:121 max:128 shoes: Swan Aquatic

Hate walking in the walking lane. It is much too deep for me. Practiced picking knees up.

walk/shuffle (C25K W2R3) 29:30 [3] 3.5 km (8:26 / km) +115m 7:14 / km
ahr:146 max:171

Had no energy and couldn't lift legs. Perhaps should have waited longer between water walking and shuffle walking.

walk/shuffle (C25K W2R2) 28:55 [3] 3.6 km (8:02 / km) +50m 7:31 / km
ahr:144 max:172

Chose a much flatter route today, but somehow did all the running sections downhill, which is easier than uphill, but hurts more.

Also, I note that bacon does not appear to be an energy food.

Swimming 13:05 [3] 0.5 km (26:10 / km)
ahr:144 max:162 shoes: Swan Aquatic

Fairly easy swim. Length and arms.

Water Walk 22:45 [3] 1.0 km (22:45 / km)
ahr:138 max:149 shoes: Swan Aquatic

Chat to a lady at about 300m who wanted to compare heart rate monitors. Otherwise, just a lot of up and down.

Illicit nearly-midnight dog walking 25:00 [2] 2.0 km (12:30 / km)

Swimming 13:02 [3] 0.5 km (26:04 / km)
ahr:143 max:161 shoes: Swan Aquatic

Late start on a day that shouldn't be a swimming day, to make up for yesterday's failure to comprehend pool closing times.

Easy, comfortable swim with a final lap 'race' against the guy in the fast lane. He didn't know he was racing.

Water Walk 12:18 [2] 0.5 km (24:36 / km)
ahr:126 max:139 shoes: Swan Aquatic

Just a few laps to make up the count to 40 for today - which I promptly forgot to write on the sheet.

At this rate, I am unlikely to hit 67km by the end of September.

walk/shuffle (C25K W2R1) 31:45 [3] 3.5 km (9:04 / km) +110m 7:50 / km
ahr:146 max:204

Couch to 5km program Week 2.

HR average includes warm up and cool down. I'm scared to split that out from the actual exercise part and see just how hard I worked this evening. It didn't feel that bad - probably because I could breathe tonight for the first time in about a week.

I would have actually liked a bit more running, even though I did 5 of the 6 intervals going uphill. Damn hills. The 5th interval damn near killed me.

I've finally looked at the map and seen that I can't get to the road I want from Swan View Road. Never again will there be a surprise uphill interval as the road dead ends.

Note

Missed going for a swim today - Photog's catch up, pootling in the garden and lunch for Jack's 60th instead. All good - didn't once feel like my heart was going to pop!

Plus the pool closes a lot earlier on public holidays than it does during the week.
