walk/shuffle (C25K W4R3) 28:30 [3] 4.0 km (7:08 / km) +90m 6:24 / km
ahr:142 max:190

Felt vastly improved for having an extra day off yesterday. Hips tight to begin with and calves/shins not entirely happy by the end. Did all the running sections on the gentle up slopes of the heritage trail and I am certain that assisted with the lack of pain. Though it would be nice to be able to jog downhill, as I am certain that is a skill that I will need at some point.

Water Walk 23:38 [2] 1.0 km (23:38 / km)
ahr:120 max:133 shoes: Swan Aquatic

Working the kinks out of my calves and hamstrings.

Swimming 18:41 [3] 0.7 km (26:41 / km)
ahr:136 max:153 shoes: Swan Aquatic

Left shoulder tight tonight and hips swishing around when breathing to the left. Spent most of the time thinking about 'straight'.

walk/shuffle (C25K W4R2) 29:21 [3] 3.8 km (7:43 / km) +60m 7:10 / km

Tired again this morning, couldn't get any kind of rhythm, achilles and knees niggled the whole way. Can't get new shoes for another week...

Final 5 minutes up a barely-there slope almost killed me. 10 second measure of heart rate with fingertips and watch put it at 204. Starting to think my MHR is a LOT higher than predicted by the formula.

Note

Anyone know a good masseur?

Water Walk (too deep) 14:49 [1] 0.6 km (24:42 / km)
ahr:106 max:129 shoes: Swan Aquatic

Stuck in the walking lane (which is too deep for me) with 6 other people. Couldn't get any traction so just kind of bobbed around. Mucked around doing kicks while walking, etc.

Swimming 19:49 [2] 0.7 km (28:19 / km)
ahr:133 max:151 shoes: Swan Aquatic

Shoulder tightened up terribly at work today, so this evening's exercise was mostly just to get it moving without aggravating it, so no attempt to actually move through the water was made.

Finished off with kickboard and fins to make 60 laps.

Illicit nearly-midnight dog walking (commute-y) 17:00 [1] 1.0 km (17:00 / km)

Stroll from work to the train station.

walk/shuffle (C25K W4R1) 31:00 [3] 4.2 km (7:23 / km) +65m 6:51 / km
slept:5.0

Decided to take it easy when I listened to the intro of the podcast and it said 3 minute and 5 minute jogs, compared to last weeks 3 minute and 90 second jogs. Plus I have a vague memory of yesterday being somewhat hard.

It was actually very pleasant. There's often a terrifyingly muscly kangaroo eating people's lawns along Viveash Road when I'm doing evening runs, but no sign of him this morning.

Achilles, shins and hips are all letting me know that I jogged downhill.

Water Walk 22:57 [2] 1.0 km (22:57 / km)
ahr:112 max:126

It really felt a lot harder than what I was apparently doing.

Also, the pool was randomly 15cm shallower than usual, which had the entertaining effect of shifting everyone about 1.5m deeper than usual. Pool is definitely quieter at the moment. I imagine that it will drop off even more as the weater gets cooler.

Swimming 13:19 [3] 0.5 km (26:38 / km)
ahr:134 max:149 shoes: Swan Aquatic

Again, I felt like I was working much, much harder than what the HRM shows.

Illicit nearly-midnight dog walking 20:00 [1] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

Walking to work really HARD this morning, so stopped to ask a business if I can steal their olives (yes and I will do so tomorrow) and then booked the car in to have tyres fixed tomorrow and then, eventually dragged myself up a very gentle slope that remarkably turned into a hill over the weekend

Illicit nearly-midnight dog walking 22:00 [1] 1.0 km (22:00 / km)

Dawdle to the train station while chatting on the phone to distract myself from how HARD it was.
