O race (peterdine relays) 32:00 [4] *** 3.0 km (10:40 / km) +110m 9:01 / km
spiked:9/9c shoes: Asics 1140 size 10

Surprised myself by having a reasonably clean run on the M course. Teamed with Deb, Ruth and Sue for a mixed difficulty relay team, with Deb and Sue running H courses, me the M and Ruth the E.

I ran second. Fine to the first control, fine to the second control, with a brief stop on the way to relocate someone on the first leg who had gotten themselves waylaid. Easy to 3, though had to slow down as the ground got rockier and I became anxious for my ankles. 3 to 4 was probably the trickiest for me, as it was just a rockfield with no defining features. Luckily they were nice and close to each other! 4 to 5 easy again. 5 to 6 easy and enjoyed the beautiful boulders, but started getting really slow in the rocky ground. 6 to 7 stayed low and on the sheep trails. Still rocky, but managed to jog most of it. 7 to 8 simple (but up a gentle slope for the second half, so Urgh), 8 to 9 easy and then jogged in to the finish to send Ruth on her way.

Felt pretty damn heavy and slow. Frustrating to be so confident of where I was and completely unable to go any faster.

Though, having heard Eoin's bellows of pain as he rolled ankles and fell and such (once at the finish and once near my control 6), I'm pretty happy to come off the map with no injuries.

Had a fantastic session today.

walk/shuffle warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)
ahr:109 shoes: Asics 1140 size 10

Up to Viveash Road. Back from Churchill.

Hips still feel very wonky - I've finally realised that it was probably the bikeride that thrown them into a sulk.

walk/shuffle (C25K W7R6) 25:00 [4] 4.0 km (6:15 / km) +72m 5:44 / km
ahr:161 max:166 shoes: Asics 1140 size 10

Ridiculously consistent effort from me - felt blah all the way through, so just maintained at a slightly uncomfortable level.

Had a walking break at the 20 minute mark. Had managed to wander into completely unfamiliar territory and didn't feel like breaking an ankle in the rough stuff next to a creek.
