Well, the Mt Washington Road Race has come and gone. I had a good race, but it's funny how time erases how hard that run really is.
My first goal during the race was to make it to the 1 mile mark before I had to take my first walking break. I barely made it to that mark back in 1986 and this time I made it to 1.6. I took a short 2 minute walk and then resumed running until I passed mile 2. After that, I walked/ran for the duration, even being a little conservative trying to save something for that last 22% grade at the end.
When I finally made that last turn and hit that "wall", I proceeded to pull it all out and passed about 5 or 6 people as I pushed hard to the finish line.
Not too shabby for me. I was only 2 minutes and 20 seconds behind my PR set in 1986.
Hopefully I'll hit it again next year.

Today was just a "loosen up" run. I only did 1 mile at 15% incline at a 15:00 pace. My legs are sore from the weekend's runs and I'm just trying to work out the stiffness.
