ahr:115 max:165

Agh! It was all going so well this week - hit all my sessions this week, was hoping for a good ride today. Headed out to the you yangs and hit the trails. All good fun. Then got a pinch flat (time spent fixing this is included in the above - hence the low av hr). No big deal. Fixed that - on the way again. Got to some nice, slightly technical but fast downhill and at the end of that started pedalling to realise I'd broken my chain. No spare links with me so a long walk back to the car.

Running (Trail) 2:49:51 [3] 30.02 km (5:39 / km) +1594ft 5:14 / km
ahr:144 max:161 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (New)

Run along the maribyrnong trail. After quite a big week I was surprised by how good I felt on this - was expecting tired legs but felt the freshest I've felt on a long run for ages. Also the hills, which aren't massive but big enough to hurt a bit, were much easier than normal.

My hydration pack bladder has sprung a leak so I did this with two handheld bottles instead. Wonder if I'm better at running with handhelds rather than a pack - something to experiment with.

Also because I didn't take my pack I forgot to take any nutrition. My wife is diabetic so I did a blood sugar test on my return and my blood sugar was just a touch below normal, so i guess that means I'm getting good at burning fat for fuel!

Cycling (mtb) 1:05:22 [3] 22.03 km (2:58 / km) +876ft 2:48 / km
ahr:135 max:152

Easy ride after my run - something cropped up so I couldn't do this as a brick as such, but there was about a 15min break between the two.

Cycling (Road) 2:35:17 [3] 66.87 km (2:19 / km)
ahr:136 max:155

Steady road ride. Kept it easy for the main part but had a couple of surges here and there - nothing for more than a few minutes though.

Running (Trail) 2:02:13 [3] 21.59 km (5:40 / km) +1148ft 5:14 / km
ahr:147 max:177 shoes: Hardrocks

Done as a 30 min warm up, 30 mins tempo/race pace, jog home

Details of race pace:
30mins, 6.53km (4:35/km), AvHR 164, Max 173

The slow run home was hard after that! But I guess that was sort of the point.

Cycling (MTB) 1:18:45 [4] 18.87 km (4:10 / km) +1640ft 3:41 / km
ahr:134 max:174

Hill repeats - did about a 15 min warm up, around 45 mins of repeats (8x repeats down and up of the valley at brimbank park), and about a 15min cool down ride back home.
Was a good ride - pushed hard on the climbs, enjoyed the recovery descent, and played dodge the rabbit as they all scampered from my lights.

Kayaking 1:30:00 [3]

First time Kayaking - really enjoyed it! Man its tough on the hips & core though. Was pretty shaky to begin with but soon got the hang of it to some degree. Overall definitely enjoyed it!

Running (Road) 30:00 [4] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (old)

Got to Kayaking early so did the run whilst waiting - didn't have my watch or anything with me so the above distance is just a guess really.
Did about a 10min warm up, 8x20sec sprint/10sec rest twice through with a couple of minutes jog between, 10mins cool down.
