Varsity 5k (2nd team), 1st
Stuck to the plan and, alternating with Luuk, set a good pace for the first 5 or 6 laps (doing 70-71s). Phil Crout kept trying to slow it down, and I had to get in his way a few times (almost getting DSQed, apparently) but we kept on pace. Then Miles took over and it started to stretch out. Hung on to the back of the 1st team race for a few more laps whilst we dropped everyone else, but eventually the heat (22 degrees), humidity and pace marking took it's toll and I started slipping behind. Looked over my shoulder with 3 laps to go and saw a lot of clear space so fortunately the last few laps were only fairly painful and I took a comfortable win in my own race.
