| 1. | Head to head with Sergei Zhyk. Start by telling him his shoelace is untied. I think he planned to just dust me, and he went straight, while I went around on the trail. I went into the woods a little too soon, but had the pleasure of standing tere loking at my map when Sergei ran by, and I gave him a friendly greeting. We went to some other control too low down, then headed even lower. As soon as I saw the trail I turned around, but Sergei went to the trail to relocate. Boris and Mihai arrived and went to the same wrong control we had been at, but then continued on. I spotted the control further up the hill, and headed there, arriving about the same time as Boris, who had turned around. | ||||||
| 2. | Boris and I head out as fast as we can, but Mihai was close behind. Couldn't tell how far back Sergei was. | ||||||
| 3. | Sergei was approaching the control as I was heading out, and passed me about halfwy through the leg, saying "Nice work" as he did so, and he disappeared up ahead for good with Mihai. | ||||||
| 4. | Approaching the control, caught my last glimpse of Sergei leaving it. | ||||||
