It’s been really busy at work and I had to work last Friday (usually off on Fridays withBertie). Got today off in lieu. A day off without kids! What a rare treat. So I had a lie in, took B to nursery, went for this run with Mairi E in the Pentlands (stunning morning), home, shower, back to bed for a bit, Pomelos with Ray for lunch, bakery 101 after, actually get around to reading some emails and now I am contemplating doing some much-needed housework. Living the total and utter dream!!!!

Glutes still niggly but better than I expected. Lovely morning!

When the kids are away, the parents will … actually do what they want of an evening instead of being a bloody taxi service! Loz is in Sweden and Lucy is on my parent’s boat on the West coast somewhere. It’s a sunny evening so we drove to Castlelaw, I did my time trial run while Ray and Bertie walked to the steading, I drove over after my run then pub dinner and home.

The Pentlands were disappointingly dry - no mud on the muddy path - and I was disappointingly slow but it was great to get out and a fun evening.

Pentlands time trial. Going for it, not least cause I am really pushed for time today... Pleased to go sub 50, not sure sub 45 is at all realistic.

Pentlands tt again. Totally different run due to the weather. Strong wind, stinging rain, and lots of lovely mud. Great fun (except capelaw where the rain was really sore) and felt good.

Tired and grumpy. I tried to get any early night, but Ray got back from TT just as I was going to bed, predictably pissed, and wanted to buy lots of kit for the Icelandic OMM, but said he was too pissed (lazy more like!) to enter his card details so I had to stay up and do it for him.

Working late today, so got the morning off. This is my time trial from when we lived in Roslin. Castlelaw car park, West for half a mile, down to the rezzies road on the path by the forest, along the orad, up to the harbour hill / bells hill col, then right on the path, Capelaw, and home via the path on the west side of castlelaw and back the same half mile as at the start. I seem to recall my old time was never under 60, except one time when I got 56 but thought I might have stopped it accidentally or something. At least I have got fitter since then, and I wasn't so unfit at the time I used to run it. Nice views - v warm.
