run to anzac park for smackdown. I did the thing where i set my alarm to get up early again and then spent all night dreaming that i'd overslept the alarm and was missing uni coz i was so late and waking up all through the night and checking my alarm to see what the time was. when i finally did get up at 6am i felt like the walking dead. tiredness hasn't really hit me yet but its starting to because i've been not moving for more than 2mins. ahh

i walked a few of the bigger hills on the way in so that my legs would retain some of the very little energy they'd gained since mt coot-tha on sun. still didn't have a lot in the them but i pushed hard all the way round. main problems were my lungs and quads but that just means i was giving it my all. Really stuffed by the loop up the hill near crag road but was a minute faster than last week so that was good. Kept pushing it all the way round esp. up the hills coz thats where I tend to get tired and slow down. Not spraining my ankle 500m before the end helped as well. Sprinted the last 500m and ended up taking 1.44 mins off last weeks time. woot

run home after smackdown. I was soo dead by this point and my whole body felt like lead. I think I might try riding to Anzac Park next time because with the run there and back the smackdown ends up being about 12kms long. And that's a little long for a smackdown. hmm now for 10hrs of uni. hurrah!

tried to go to clives but i couldn't ride there and i couldn't get a lift. plus i had an assignment that needed doing and was reeeeeally behind on uni work. i'm slack and lazy I know but I'll make up for it later in the week.

ride into the city over the storey bridge and back along south side of river and over footbridge. kierans mountain bike is still awesome and makes me go fast. zoooooooom!

went for a big long run up mt coot-tha. ran up from caledenia crt up the massively steep track there and had to stop for a while to stretch out my calves because they were so tight you could have bounced a cricket ball off them. then much slugging and angry thoughts to get to the top up the track where i was pretty much on my hands and knees scrambling. then i took a look at the view from the lookout coz i've never been up there before and continued on my way back down to slaughter falls and around the aboriginal art track then up again to the top and down the mountain bike track which curves around steeparse track and popped out at greenwood ct. then back home over the motorway. oh and i sprained my OTHER ankle coming down the mountain again this time and it really hurt. why am i so goddamned retarded?

run to anzac park through normal route. legs felt rather stiff to start off withbut loosened uup towards the end. still took it pretty slow.

smackdown. felt soooo much better than i did last week. went harder up the hills and along the flat and down as well. i sort of felt that i didn't give it everything though and ill be able to go harder next time. would have got a better time too if i hadn't sprained my ankle coming down the rocky path from the top of the hill just before the end though. it was much worse this time and it hurt to put weight on it so i limped/ran to the finish instead of a proper smackdown. i have a pretty nice cankle going on though and i did manage to take 8 mins off last weeks run, which says quite a bit more about how absolutely spent i was last week than my improved fitness this week. woot

was getting very very dark and scary by this point and my ankle was hurting a lot and i was getting bad pains in my stomach caused by what i think is an illness. took the long way home coz it was better lit and the whole way all i was thinking was "ahhhh bikeway attacker" and was almost peeing my pants with fright. which was bad because i had to take my time getting home. think i'll try heat packing my ankle this time. stupid joints.

i was planning to do intervals today and do a class at the gym but i couldn't coz I was stuck at uni until 8pm. I took my stuff with me so that i could do intervals in the 3 hours i was just wandering around for (prac finished early) but my awesome plan of where to put my stuff fell through so i couldn't. I'll make up for it tomorrow. are there any lockers or anything at uq where i can unload stuff in the future?

did the terrain course at clives training. had bridget to show me the ropes so i didn't spend much time looking round for the little black tapes except on the last one where i knew i was in the right place but couldn't see the thing so i lost a bit of time there. i found out i need to improve my bush running quite a bit especially in very thick/hilly places. and i also shouldn't repeat the mistake of wearing running shorts and joggers. my legs were torn up. oh and i twisted my ankle rather badly running UP the hill to #8. so now its all swollen and sore. must ice that...

sardines course. got all of them except for #6 which i cut short because i had to be back by 5;15. it was a fun exercise.

stole kierans bike to ride into the city which i'm now in love with. it doesn't weigh a tonne and lose momentum as soon as it hits the slightest incline and it goes faaaast! would have like to have ridden further but couldn't becuase i had a stupid staff meeting at work.

i was a bit off colour today but i thought that i'd ride into uq and do the sprint courses that i missed yesterday becuase of stupid work. dad came up for a visit so he decided to come with me. ride there was a killer, there were so many hills. went over the green bridge to check it out on the way back and it got dark before we made it home and i didn't have any lights. hills (especially up from the station at taringa) were soooo tough though. quads were pretty dead by the end

did the long course from yesterday. took me quite a bit longer than it should have due to some silly navigational mistakes (ie getting within 50m of the control and finding a wall blocking my way then having to go all the way around the other way) but apart from that the navigation is getting less rusty. was good fun hurdling all the gardens and such around uq. though all the people who were playing soccer or sketching ducks or whatever looked at me like i was a crazy person.

did the long final course even though i wouldn't have made it in real life. very few navigational errors just a bit hesitant in some areas. would have probably lost about 30secs all up. was a bit stuffed though and my body is still not entirely recovered from tue/wed and the long run yesterday. pretty happy with how my navigation is improving though.

went into lorna janes today and they were having a 20% off sale storewide so i got me 2 pairs of bitchin' running shorts which are totally awesome. feels like i'm wearing nothing at all!

getting up this morning was very hard but probably worth it. bridget ran with me so i wouldn't get lost so i tried to keep her in sight most of the run but she had to stop and wait for me a bit. hills were hard and i walked a couple of steps which was very bad of me. attempted a smackdown when we hit the road but i'm not sure it was really that much faster. I went pretty hard by my standards and now i'm really tired and sleepy and have to go to work.
