Bonk Hard Racing - LBL Challenge
2 maps, 1:24k

4 person coed team with Emily K, Mike C, and Mike G

First race for this team.

Emily's first 24 hour AR.

We cleaned the course and finished in 23:15!

Some day, I will pair up a great nav performance with a great physical performane. But not this race. Nav was as good as it gets. Maybe 12 - 15 minutes of error for the entire race. Physically though, something was going on. Legs started cramping about 4 hours in and never really let up. Fortunately, it was after most of the single track was behind us.

Maybe the factors were additive. Certainly wasn't an ideal couple of weeks leading up to the race:

1) poor sleep
2) over trained and legs not fully recovered?
3) allergies
4) heat (78F @ 10AM, really low humidity)
5) dehydration (I think this was the primary cause)

Remote gear bag (1 onion sack per two racers). Access the gear bag three times throughout the race.

7 AM start together with the 12 Hour racers.


1) 10K rogaine style Trek - cp's 1-8
2) 50ishK bike - 9 - 18 (to gear bag)
3) 16ish K rogaine style Trek - cps 19 - 32
4) 22K flat water paddle - cps 32 - 40 (no #39) (gear bag @ cp 37)
5) 5K trek - 41 - 42 (to gear bag)
6) 25K bike - 43, 44, Finish
