Run warm up/down (Warm up/down) 20:00 [2]

Warm up before sprintervals at Keithcott Farm, and warm down after sprintervals.

Orienteering (Sprintervals) 12:00 [3] 2.1 km (5:43 / km)

John set 3 sets of sprintervals around the school at Keithcott Farm. I love sprints, and in particular ones around buildings, so this was especially fun. Just had a bit of trouble reading the map while moving, but I reckon this is a pretty common problem for people during sprints so I won't blame my poor eyesight just yet!

Run warm up/down (Warm up/down) 22:00 [2]

6 minutes warm up before the sprint, and 16 minutes warm down afterwards.

Orienteering race (SA Sprint Champs) 16:49 [3] * 2.5 km (6:44 / km)
spiked:19/19c

SA Sprint Champs at Nuriootpa. It started blowing a gale and pouring with rain a couple of minutes before my start time, so by the time I reached the first control I might as well have just had a shower in my clothes! I had a good time running this course, though with just a couple of errors. On number 14 I ran into the mounds of dirt looking for the control, when they were on the other side of the mounds (this probably cost me about 10-15 seconds), to 16 I ran around the fence instead of going over (probably another 10 seconds or so) and at number 19, the last control, I became confused and thought I was at 18... (this probably cost me another 10-15 seconds). Overall, I was pretty happy with how I went.

Note
(rest day)

The most I did today was walk around the shops with Sus in town, and exercise my arm lifting chocolate beer to my mouth at the Belgian. Nice!

Cycling (Commute) 35:00 [3]

Strength Training (Upper, Core & Glutes) 35:00 [2]

Run (Belair Night Run) 57:00 [3] 9.6 km (5:56 / km)

Went for a run with John, Jenny, Sus, Lauren and Zara in Belair. I was really tired after a late night at Uni the night before and an early start at work spending most of the day either carrying or packing heavy boxes (moving the office to another floor of the building) but I didn't feel too bad once I got going. It was a beautiful night and it was great to have such big bunch girls so we could all have a good chat! Now I'll definitely sleep well tonight.

Cycling (Commute) 35:00 [3]

Run (Randells/Waite) 56:00 [3]

Got up at 6am and ran in the twilight over the bottom of Randells Reserve, then over Brownhill Creek and up the little, now very overgrown track, to the quarry carpark. Stopped for 1min for a stretch (I'm often stiff running first thing in the morning) before running up Brown Hill and following the Yurrabilla trail through Waite to the gully by the big tank and heading back down through Springfield, back up to Mitcham Reserve and home. It's great that it's so light in the mornings now for running! I say boo to daylight savings... ;o)

Cycling (Commute - Uni) 50:00 [3]

Pretty tough riding in the gusty wind and dodging the debris on the roads. Only got a little wet riding to and from, though.

Run (Suburbs - 3 hills) 52:00 [3] 9.4 km (5:32 / km)

Went for a run with Sus between showers after getting home from work. We did the Lynton, Randells, Carrick Hill loop, coming back past Unley High. We only got a little bit of a shower a couple of km from home, so we were lucky!
Then off to Jenny's for a feast of baked potatoes and interesting asian tinned fruits. Mmmmm....

Strength Training (Upper, core & glutes) 40:00 [3]

Cycling (Commute) 40:00 [3]

Took a bit longer to ride to and from work today given the crazy wind gusts that kept trying to blow me off the road! I left work a bit late after checking Weatherzone to see when my best gap would be to get home. I made it past Cross Road before it started raining! The strong westerly wind kept trying to use my panier as a sail, which would've been useful if I lived in Magill, but as I live South of the city, it was quite sketchy. One advantage was that there weren't many other cyclists crazy enough to be on the road.

Note
(rest day)

Arrows Relays. This was quite a long day but I spent most of it manning registration with Sus and trying to make sure things didn't blow away! I also got to go down the slide in the adventure course while collecting controls. Fun.
