Run (Belair) 30:00 [3]

Quick run from Tyson's in the evening while he printed out relays stuff. Ran around the streets to Belair NP, up past the lake and up out of the park on Sheoak Road then back along Sheoak and Main roads. Spooky in the park on your own after dark...

Spent all day at Para Wirra setting up the relays with Tyson, John, Jenny and later on Andrew. We all put out about 13 controls each and then swapped sections of the map and put out si units. I thought by looking at the map there wasn't much green so I didn't need gaiters - yeah right. I guess I should know better in para wirra. The event arena looked great when we had finished - a real triumph of bunting.

Got to pick up Tyson from the airport tonight (not on my bike, though). Yay!

Arms were tired this morning.

Run (Commute) 28:00 [3]

Ran to work down King William Road as I left my bike in the cage last night. This run also keeps getting shorter.
5 PM

Cycling (Commute) 20:00 [3]

My bike was still waiting for me after work, so I rode it home.
6 PM

Run (Lynton & stuff) 29:00 [3]

This run was also faster than usual. Must be cos I didn't run yesterday.

Cycling (Commute) 15:00 [3]

Rode to town and left the bike in the cage for the night. Poor thing. I hope she's coping ok.

Run (Start Running Class) 23:00 [2] 3.0 km (7:40 / km)

Did the SARRC 'start running' class with my friend who wants to run the city to bay. There were heaps of people there - maybe 30 or 40 - all learning to run. Today was the first class and we ran from Pultney Grammar on South Terrace to the race-course and back, essentially. There were bits of walking too. My mate did really well and chatted to me and jogged the whole way! I was thinking of running home, but my full pack and the offer of a lift swayed me against it.

Run (Panorama & stuff) 54:00 [3]

Ran west then south, up around the cemetery, south of Hood Park and rolled my right ankle savagely flying down Eliza Place. I was trying not to slip on the sand over the new footpath and didn't notice in the dark that the footpath took a sharp left turn - my right foot landed on the edge and rolled into the soft sand with a 'crack'. Seemed sore but ok after a few seconds rest but some muscles on top of my foot and in my calf are still hurting. Running in the dark in the suburbs can be a hazard! I ran on the roads from then on and some nice cars stopped to give way like I was a little Barina, or maybe more like an old VW. ;)
Still feeling like I'm just holding a cold at bay...

Cycling (Commute) 35:00 [3]

Been feeling a cold coming on since Thursday and was more stuffy today. I blame running in the rain at Fox Creek on the coldest day in Adelaide for 2 years.
So decided to have a rest day and hope my immune system kicks back in.

Orienteering (Fox Creek MTB v Foot O) 1:34:00 [3]
spiked:11/

This is the first time I've done a score event where you have to plan as you go, and it showed. Covered a fair chunk of the map, I just didn't get a whole lot of controls! Got 2 of the 3 90 pointers and 2 of the 3 80's too. It was well under 10 degrees and raining the whole time so my glasses kept fogging up. After an hour I just gave up and carried them! best fun was travelling 150m and 7 10m contour lines on my bum in wet, slippery pine needles. I actually got up a fair bit of speed and bounced myself off trees to keep on course. Landed right above the control! Beats running any day. :)
