First long run in quite some time (i always say that...) It was agreat morning to be out and the 6 of us went on a favourite loop of mine. My pace was perfect for what i wanted to achieve and i was able to run the majority of the loop. Bridget and I were singing playschool songs (like Highland Goat, and The Scarecrow song) while the oters were zooming off ahead.

Saturday Belair Bike Ride

Fern and I went out for a bike ride. I was feeling a little unenthused, but followed suit all the same. I was sooooo sluggish up QJub and Fern left me in a wake of dust from her speedy tyres. We decided to head bcak down from the tap and drop into Blackwood Foodland on the way home. I found this tough. Will have to make up for it with a run this afternoon.

Ran with the crew up to Long Gully Kiosk then Bridgemon turned back. Feeling like that would be slack I pushed the rest of us onto Karka. I was feeling so flat for the majority of the run, probably because of the effort from Tuesday still, and because of the three full field days this week.

3 Falls Grand Loop

Run with Bridgemon and the kids for the first time (for the kids) around Morialta. They are a great bunch of kids and quite tough. The run was fun and quite hard work up to Deep View. As all the boys, Liv and I continued up to Third Falls, we all had to step around a Koala who was being quite stubborn and not moving off the track. Warm night for it too.

Ran with Simon and the girls, or is that the girls including Simon? Down (or rather up and down) to Frank Smith, then back up to the Forest. Bumped into Lexie and Mike after about a minute of running, then proceeded to chat to them for about 10min, they are nice people. Simon and I ran and talked about how poor the Surveying Industry is and Simon was telling me how good the manufacturing engineering industry is.
I was in Strugglesville, or is the Struggle Town, or perhaps Struggle Street, this whole run with my legs feeling the pain of a big weekend of physical activity.

2012 SA MTBO Championships - Mt Crawford Goldfields

Took part in an MTBO again! There was no way i was going to be doing open mens though.... So i did the M50A / W20A Course instead. It was really good fun too. I stuffed up one route choice where i second guessed myself after checking control sites with Fern and took a much longer route choice than was neccesarry. Had a good race against Ian Winn towards the end with a choice of to either up then down or down then up. It was an in and out leg so we opposed each other each time, Ian went up then down both ways and i went down then up both ways and I won one leg and he won the other. Great fun day, Fern really did set good courses and Wallaringa put on an afternoon tea spread which nullified my baker stop on the way home.

Went with Fern, Karl, Bess and Angus on Angus' first Rogaine. He did really well, only grizzling on the really rough tracks. Karl managed to drop his phone which he had to go back and look for, this resulted in numerous apologies from him which were realised through the medium of ice-cream. We finished up with 520pts, which i think is pretty good for a team of 5. The usual grab for a slice of pizza at the HH was like breaking your way through the crowds at Glenelg for New Years Eve. Great fun day out!

Fern and I dropped the running shoes and picked up the bikes for Orienteering today. It was such a pleasant day to be in a nice bit of forest. So flat and mostly fast fun riding. The map certainly showed its age with a couple of tracks being missing on the ground, and perhaps missing off the map, but it was such a great day. We dropped only two of the controls, but i am certain we would've had time to get them. We were only out for fun, so it didn't really matter anyway.

A "bigger than Thursday" run from home around Belair. I was pretty lethargic the whole way, but it was such a nice morning to be out in the park. Saw a Koala with her Joey and a million flowers and birds. These are the days that make running worthwhile.

Surprise Cleland Run

Troy had the idea last night to go for a run in Cleland. Fern and I decided not to tell Simon and Bridget and kidnap them and take them to the secret run location. Well, that failed. Simon parked his car in our driveway and Bridget wasn't with him. So I coerced him to take us where we told him to. Turns out that also included going home to pick up Bridget. Simon cottoned on to where we were going pretty quickly and i didn't have to tell him anymore directions. Anyway the run had a nice downhill start and fun downhill finish. It was the 186m of up in the middle that really was tough. We did see some yellow tail black cockatoos which was nice, and they chatted to us for about a km. The views from the ridge just before sunset was amazing, this has to be in my top 10 runs in the Adelaide Hills.

It is officially summer in my book! Daylight savings has just started and Fern and I arose bright and early after a late night at a wedding to run with Bridgemon from Brdgewater. We were limited to around an hour so we did that loop up to Spring Gully Road and up the surprisingly long slog up Old Carey Gully Road. Simon turned off towards Stirling/ home and me and the two girls turned towards the cars. I was really quite un coordinated with my legs for the first 25min of the run and never really felt a great pace until my legs woke up on Old Mt Barker Road.

Afternoon run up North Beach and back from the house. Such a great evening for a run, slightly warm, but a stellar evening! I was continually swooped by seagulls as i stretched at the lookout. Never been swooped by a seagull before, hilarious, they are wussy compared to magpies. Plenty of bogans out with there cars on the beach tonight.
