Monday nights is jam packed.
This gym doesn’t allow any pack up time with one class finishing at 6:30 and the other immediately starting (unlike Balance who scheduled at least 5 minutes changeover).
So I bailed a few minutes early from HIIT as soon as people started vacating the other studio but still almost every mat and step got snapped up and even then I struggled to find a few square metres of vacant floor to stake my claim!

Swapping out yoga to weights class made me even more exhausted but was more enjoyable.

2nd time I have tried this class.
Doing so as I was trying a private yoga class that had a lot less emphasis on technical moves and much more focus on relaxation.
So unfortunately this offering is not an ideal replacement.
Will swap it out instead for Body Pump on Monday’s.

for 9 1/2 hrs plus all the unlogged free weights and machines doing before classes.

CX Worx, Abs and The HIIT all flogging me so hoping they will have the desired effect on my physique.

Plus just Body Pump a few times a week used to maintain the gains I had made.

Can’t really fit in any more classes I am interested in as working 10-11 hrs each day starting 6 am and finishing around 4:30 pm. Would either have to start later or finish earlier neither of which is currently viable. Also need to resume Street-O which fell over after Christmas which would wipe out Wednesday classes.

Any Saturday that KC not here the implied expectation is I will work which screws parkrun and most gym options.

Next focus once gym routine established is food.

OMG OMG totally different to the other day and I had to stop during some reps as pushing my low cardio level to current limit.
Gave up the idea of attending two more classes tonight and went home to do the dishes and prepare for a work phone call at 8:30 pm

Finally joined a Sydney gym .... for 6 months .... at a cost of over 3 times what it used to cost at Wests Mayfield for 12 months!

Will try out of range of different classes to experiment with what I like .... or what works on physique well ..... to build up some form of weekly routine to combat boredom, loneliness and restore my body to its former self.

Run 5 km NSW - Official Panania 29:44 [3] 5.0 km (5:57 / km)

72nd parkrun at 43rd location. Now completed 13 runs around the Sydney region with at least 9 still to go excluding the Woolongong region.

I was speaking to the man, who eventually was today’s winner, as he was wearing a t shirt with 240 km on it. He said he had run a 300 km loop run around Sydney (seemingly as a training activity) and had pre booked accommodation at setpoints around the course and ate from local supermarkets.

Running out of options closer to home. Next choice likely to be tinytoes suggestion of Cooks Hill. Need to do Dolls Point and Kamay to expand my Alphabet Club diversity!

Quickly got my Panania token scanned to drive 47 minutes to Mt Druitt to attend a 9:30 class with KC and her instructor friends. Something totally different for me and you couldn’t see how uncoordinated I was under the water!

This time upped selected weights to try and set my new standard set point.

First Body Pump class in over 13 months.
Have been doing free weights and body weight exercises unlogged for the last 5 weeks trying to rebuild my prior physique (pre Australia departure) so it wasn’t as big a shock to the system as it otherwise would have been. I have restored a reasonable amount of muscle in a short time!

Gyms in Sydney are RIDICULOUSLY expensive and I haven’t joined one in 6 months so have undertaken a 3 day trial of the best priced / optioned one halfway between work and home. If I sign up it will be at a higher rate for 6 months rather than a full year as my motivation may not last or I may look for another townhouse at end of this lease to resolve various issues.

Run 5 km NSW - Official San Remo 29:58 [3] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)

71st parkrun at 42nd location.
Restoring my status of completing everything near Newcastle. Missed the first event two weeks ago due to limited accomodation availability Instead electing to go to Sydney Wet n Wild and indoor skydiving at Penrith.
Booked hotel at Budgewoi, 6 minute drive from the start, and drove up Friday night.
One of the more scenic parkruns of recent times following the water with bridges, trees and chirps of parrots and galahs.
287 competitors so start was chaotic with lots of challenging overtaking on the grass to the left for the first 500 m.

Afterwards drove to Tuggerah to go to the Treetops Adventure Park to go on their two Crazy Rider experiences - almost 1 km and 5 minutes long with drops and cork screws galore.

Stopped at nearby chocolate and cheese factories before heading on to Cessnock for another night away from Sydney.

Run 5 km NSW - Official Greenway 29:54 [3] 5.0 km (5:59 / km)

Inaugural Parkrun so there were 321 runners.
Nothing set this course or location as very different from any other.
70th parkrun, 41st location and 12th parkrun in the Sydney region.
Rain prior to the start soaked everyone leaving puddles and spongy grass along the course.
Pushed hard and managed to get under 30 minutes.
Aim to get back under 27 minutes in the next 6 months.

Note

Left car at parkrun and caught bus remaining 6 km into Sydney. Entire day walking around Australian Museum prior to catching bus back.
