Orienteering - Street (McKeachie's Run) 44:40 [3] 7.75 km (5:46 / km)
shoes: New Balance 1260v6

Map very different from my January 2014 version as had been expanded to the north.
So my route took me to areas I had never walked through before!

With 10 x 3 Pointers and 10 x 2 Points on the Clue Sheet it looked like it would be a high scoring event .... until I got the map. Controls spread well apart with stretches of 500 m to 800 m between controls. Also long regions of impassable swamp dividing up areas of the map so route choice was difficult.

Ultimately I spent the whole 2 minute planning time drawing a route to the south ... and then abandoned it and went north instead.

Route 2D 1B 3L 2A 1A 2B 1H 3K 3H 2E 1D 2G 3E 2H 2C

44:40 and 7.75 km for 15 Controls / 30 Points (1 Point x 4, 2 Point x 7, 3 Point x 4). So managed to clear only half the points available.

No idea what macey got but there was no way he was clearing the course today.

Also running in brand new shoes that felt like concrete for the first 5 minutes and never got any better throughout. These much more rigid to support feet from rolling etc but I think they are going to hurt.
