Left knee outside
Had a little 100m test this morning which easily confirmed decision to bail.
Felt like I was getting a bus of shame but thankfully not spotted by any walkers id been chatting to whilst waiting.
Planned to walk 3km back from spean but knee wasn't happy but thankfully have nice neighbours for lift.
Feeling bit better later on but not really walked anywhere yet.
Couple days rest maybe then see.
At least I have lots of work, charity stuff and volunteering to do.

Hmm think that might be it for my whw adventure but still great fun overall.
0km - 10km Crianlarich. Relief that the path is wide and smooth but ouch outside of left knee (self diagnksed as the outside ligament) not great despite the 10 hour sleepathon overnight. Lots of runners coming other way. Bit weird with all the traffic closeby!
10km - 20km Tyndrum - cool path rthrough forest but bit rough for my L knee. Uphill ok, flat okish, downhill bad. Seems to be similar downhill as uphill amount on this route. Good chat with family folk met in pub last night. 9yo doing 30 km a day bosh! Into tyndrum twinges from left knee. Real good food cafe. Large fish and chips. Nice but excessive fish:chip ratio.
20km - 30km Bridge of Orchy hotel. Pharmacy at green wellie limited. Ibuprofen powered climb to top, but descent and flat was a pain even drugged up. Pain left side of outer knee. Spent time consoling myself this might be it today for whw as citilink bus and scotrail looked far less painful ways tonfinish the whw. Good chat with german bridge-building chap to distract from pain of final 4km.

Whw day 1

A long and rewarding day.
Had to do a long first day as couldnt find any accommodation with a roof south of here at late notice.
Only about 4.5 hours kip as mixture of nerves, excitement getting up at 5am
0km > 22km Drymen. Rapid path. Rained a lot. Lots of puddles especially on a 7km railway stretch. Quite pretty though.
22km> 45km to Rowardennan. Loved this bit
Conic hill not that hilly. Stopped raining. Sunshine and factor 50 deployed. Gorhekusnalong e sidd of loch lomond through the trees. Getting tired. Quite busy round loch lomond. Chicken tikka sandwich mmm.
45km > 55km Inversnaid. Yikes the path got super rough, bouldsrs, roots etc, like a normal path really but wasnt expecting this. Seem to have tweaked my left leg outside knee and quad. Stomach issues. Stop at inversnaid hotel. Best 1.50 ever spent for hot chocolate and facilities.
55km > 68km path contijued to be v rough. struggling with my left leg a bit, sorr at top calf and outside knee. Bit worried but not far. Last few km very slow and v tired. Arrive at beinn glas to find ive been upgraded to an ensuite room, bonza. Burger and chips and good chat with some whw folk.
Not feeling 100% from head cold still bit not on chest and sore throat gone. Felt.throat in last few hours
See how left leg is tomorrow but only 30km -35km each day now :-).

Urgh seem to have got a bit ill again. Not that ill but sore throat sniffles and head cold, hoping it wont get onto chest. Not sure whether resurgence of same thing from before kintyre.
Only about 4 people in the office last Fri bit 50% of those were ill (thanks).
Fi gers crossed.ok for whw attempt.
Working till midnight anyway last few nights so not much chance for running anyway
