I have new Windows 10 PC and when I try to install my OCAD 9 version all I get is the OCAD Icon in the start tray? The installer does not open and there are no error or other messages? I am installing as administrator and have installed several other programs without problems, including Open Orienteering Mapper and Purple Pen.
I tried the same install on my wife's PC also Windows 10 but about a year older and it all works fine.
Has anyone else had this problem and know the solution?
There are more qualified people to answer this but my understanding is that you get 2 install--at least with OCAD 10 and above, not sure about OCAD 9.. After that, you need to contact OCAD and explain why you need additional installs.
Solution - let fizzyred do all the drawing!
Well as much as fizzyred likes to be on the computer she is not keen on Cad!
Actually I solved the problem after advice from Juffy and I fiddled around with the compatibility setting in the setup.exe and eventually found a combination that let it run. I think it was the resolution change that let is run, why I have no idea but it worked so I am happy for the next 5 years or so until I am silly enough to upgrade my computer again!
