I have seen several attempts at a good 2006 international O-event schedule, but am curious if anyone knows of a very good schedule that includes WREs, Championships of all sorts, and major (and medium-sized) multiday events in Europe (and elsewhere), in particularl during the summer. Having something like that would make summer planning a lot easier, and I hope it already exists.
The Swiss calendar at
http://www.solv.ch/cgi-bin/international is always the first place I look. It's not complete, but it's a pretty good start. And you can always add events to it yourself by emailing the webmaster. (Note: that link goes to the 2005 calendar for now; the 2006 one is more fragmentary and is at
http://www.solv.ch/cgi-bin/international?sortby=&y....)
Here is my dream schedule for next summer. I'll be happy just to get to a few of these events though.
June 17-18 - Jukola (Salo, Finland)
June 24-27 - WMOC Pre-Games (Salzburg, Austria)
July 2-9 - JWOC (Druskininkai, Lithuania)
July 9-14 - Fin5 (Joensuu, Finland)
July 16-21 - Oringen (Hälsingland, Sweden)
July 28 - Aug 5 - WOC (Århus, Denmark)
August 9-20 - Rocky Mountain 1000 Day (Wyoming, USA)
It's my last year as a Junior, so I might as well make it count. I should work on RyanAir for a sponsorship :D
Haha, looks a lot like my dream summer schedule, except aren't you a bit young for WMOC? :)
Anyone know of anything else going on in the beginning of July that can be cool? (I know there is the Gotland 3-days, but was wondering if there are things on the continent as well.)
I saw information online about the swiss o week in Zermatt July 15-22 too (at the same time as O'Ringen but it's near the Matterhorn and the pictures look beautiful:). I don't know what my plans are yet for the summer.

If I were in Europe I would definitely choose the
Swiss O Week over O-Ringen this year (unless I was preparing for the WOC). There was also an ad in the last Orienteering Today. Check out the
program.
The Swiss O Week sounds awesome, but it's waaaay down under. Bad route choice.
Oh, and the WMOC Pre-Games are open to everyone as they aren't the actual WMOC. Oh, and my girlfriend lives in Salzburg, so I am definitely going to be there for that one :D
Here are few Finnish events to consider.
June 10-11 - Suunto Games (Near Helsinki)

June 15 - Forssa Games + WRE (Forssa)

June 17-18 - Jukola Relay (Salo)

July 3-8 - 40th Kainuu O-Week (Kuhmo)

July 9-14 - Finnish O-Week (Joensuu)

Does anyone know of any events in Russia this summer?
This seems to be a decent listing of multi-day events in Europe.
The Swiss O week is going to be amazing. I wish I could go the whole time, but I think it's a little too close to WOC for 6 days of races. I will however be there for a few days. Btw, the entry price includes all the trains and gondolas up to these maps (almost all above tree line), the price for this transportation alone is about 3x the entry fee. Definitely worth it!
I put a bunch of international events on the
ORCA schedule. For summer planning, the best viewing options are: Calendar format->Calendar and Events->Oregon/N Am/International.
For juniors, there's an English-language training camp in northern Czech Republic, for ages 12-18, all levels. (A brochure feell out of my latest Orienteering Today.) It says it gets about 160 participants from countries as far as China, Sweden, Israel, Hungary, and has other fun activities like swimming and biking in addition to orienteering. It's not expensive either at 130 Euro for ten days, including accommodations and food (though of course you have to get there).
Register by April 30.

Wow, Jeff, that's great! Thanks!
There are summer events in Russia, some annual, some not. There are three weeks of activity near St. Petersburg in mid- to late June. July schedule tends to be light because everyone is off to Fin-5 and/or O-Ringen. Late August is a good time, too, but you'll have to go further south/east. Figure out which week you can/would like to go, and I'll be able to translate
the calendar for you.
