August 24, 2011 Idonwannabe, 6.3 kms, 14 posts, warm and sunny; no cows when race began, some cows later in the day; maybe one horsefly though there were conflicting reports about this.
Martin and Roland (both from Switzerland), refused to deny or confirm rumors that they were here to secretly observe organizational details for implementation at next year's WOC in Switzerland.

A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
Awesome course, can we get some more air...I mean oxygen up here.
Can't wait to orienteer in Laramie tomorrow! I'll be getting up at an ungodly early hour to drive there... :-P
BTW, for anyone who has free time to kill, Laramie has a cool
farmer's market on Friday afternoons.
Laramie also used to be the nearest location to Seattle that you could find Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat. I loaded up the car on the way back from the 2008 event.
(Though, Boulevard has expanded enough since to find it occasionally out here, so all is well!)
Perhaps a downtown Laramie demo Sprint course will help Martin and Roland avoid the disasters at this year's WOC sprint! In Laramie and Swizerland, getting the cows to stay on the grass may be easier than getting the French spectators to stay off the course. (Hmm, does Laramie have grass? The mowed type.)
Sorry I can't be in the Daze this year.
does Laramie have grass? The mowed type
Of course it does. And the cows are up in the hills (none sighted at today's venue), and would have some traveling to do to get downtown. :-)
Pine Beetles lyrics? Or is it that you're working up to say 'And tonight Mr Kite is topping the bill' when the hurricane hits the east coast?
