Yay fun!!! I read bio while I did this, and it was awesome! I'd planned on 45, but I ended up feeling like doing more. This way, I stay awake while I'm reading and I don't lose any time working out. (I will running of course, but that will be worth it.)

VERY good news. It's very probable that the reason my recent shin pain felt exactly like when I had the stress fracture is that it was referred pain from a muscle, and it got referred to the same place that the pain from the fracture got referred to.
So I'm two weeks behind my original schedule for starting running again, but I think it was the right thing to be extra cautious about that pain I had while I was hanging tapes! No regrets at all at how I've handled this injury so far. Now I just need to be careful while I'm coming back.

yay first run back! Boo cramp! The bad thing about running only 7 minutes is that if you get a cramp for a few minutes it lasts almost your entire run:( Otherwise fun!
Today the doctor told me I'm okay to stop using the crutches again. His reasoning didn't seem very complete to me, but he's the M.D., and I'm not complaining about ditching the crutches. I've started to feel some twinges in my shin similar to before it got reinjured last time, but I won't be able to get any medical advice if I keep using crutches pain-free. (He told me that unless I'm experiencing "unbearable pain" while walking, I should do it.) I'm hoping it's just "getting used to" bearing weight again.
shin feels a lot better without walking, driving, pool-running, or circuiting. I think I'll ice once more before bed.
Also, the doctor e-mailed me back this morning, which is good. I'm sending him an update at the end of this week, and then since he told me to send him one then he'll probably respond more quickly than he has been.
shin continues to get worse. It's from pool running, circuit, driving and/or walking in the boot. While all seem unlikely, I know it is one of them. So I'm not exercising until Friday or Saturday, I'm driving minimally, and I'm using crutches. I might also ice and do ibuprofen.
