Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

11 AM

Running tempo (Althorpe Loop) 26:30 [3] 7.5 km (3:32 / km) +85m 3:21 / km

Anti-clockwise with Willy, lost touch up out of Little Brington and crossed with Ben so much earlier than expected. Bit of a low turning into Althorpe but did the hill pretty nicely.

Skiing - Cross Country 1:50:00 [3] 12.0 km (9:10 / km) +500m 7:35 / km

A little thin but a good foray on the Caldbeck Fells from Carrock Beck to the Lingy Hytte. More cover on the Cumbrian Way would have been nice to prevent scratches but the grassy paths were good, and very enjoyable on the way down. Need to practice step turns on tussocks for lower slopes.

Running (1/4 Buttermere Horseshoe) 2:37:04 [3] 20.27 km (7:45 / km) +1145m 6:03 / km

I never want to do the Buttermere Horseshoe. Looks brutal and unnecessarily zig-zagy. Nice run with Lewis from Scale Hill car-park into the cloud on Whiteside. Feeling patchy going up Grasmoor but then the clouds cleared up for the descent where my knee came on pretty bad so we skipped Mellbreck and stuck to the shore of Crummock Water.

Running (Coledale Horseshoe) 2:14:50 [3] 16.06 km (8:24 / km) +1431m 5:48 / km

Injured parties started from Braithwaite and climbed into the most gorgeous snowy views. Effort up the steep bit of Grizedale Pike then timed it perfectly with Nicola at Coledale Hause. Down from Crag Hill all the way to the bottom of Causey Pike for a heathery straight-line to Barrow.
