Slowly getting closer. Went out on Si’s shoulder with a nice inside line after it started stupid-quick. Passed by Ted and a Wharfdale up the first pull then behind another Wharfdale through the nick. Yo-yo with him over the terraces before gaining ground on the top traverse.
Took a leftwards line off the top to descend for longer, there was an extra terrace with some manky moss-covered limestone pavement which was grim. Straight onto the scree then went for it on the last bit of grass to overtake into third with lots of looking-round on the run-in.

From Honistor over to Wasdale in beautiful sunshine. Settled into it going up Yewbarrow passing a guy (Neal) on a touch-and-go attempt near the top. Bit of a push up Red Pike before being sensible / getting tired to save a bit for Sunday. Grand day out. He’s got this.
Very nice coast, denes and waggon-ways tour with Jonny: Whitley Bay, St. Mary's Lighthouse, Seaton Sluice, Holywell Dene, Waggonways. Finally visited Newcastle!
Ran out of time to make the chasing sprint orienteering :-(
