Running 2:21:00 [3] 12.11 km (11:39 / km)

More Orienteering training today with Escondido's guidance and supervision. I am so glad he was there as there were a few times I could have stood there confused and frustrated for a while if he didn't help me find my way.

Was a slow go today because of all the slushy mess on the trails and horse stuff. It was good to see the whole course today and be out in such warm weather - felt like April!

Thanks so much to Escondido for always being patient with me during the training sessions. Very much looking forward to our race next weekend and will be praying for snow all this week!!!

Running 30:43 [3] 5.98 km (5:08 / km)

Windy run tonight but so glad I went out, other than the wind it was a great night. Goal was to keep steady and quick (for me) pace for the entire run, which I did.
At the end, saw a girl running in the same direction about 300 metres away from me, so I decided to catch her and beat her to my finish line. I beat her with about 20 metres to go and hit 4:52 for pace then. The garmin sure comes in handy!

Cycling 1:50:00 [3]

Back 2 back spin classes...first one was ok, didn't enjoy class as much. Second was my fav - but had to cut it short by last track and cool down in order to get free parking within 2 hours.

Legs felt really good but sore throat is back. Whatever has got me will not let go...should have got my flu shot!

Orienteering 1:05:00 [3] 5.5 km (11:49 / km)

***Entering at work and can't remember exact time/distance but this is pretty close.

My 2nd attempt doing an O-Cup by myself. I started off well and was confident in my ability until I took off from cp 1 to cp 2. I had a plan to take the trail on the edge of the park down to cp 2 but I must have cut in too early. I ended up in a web of small trails and spent about 20-30 mins trying to find the cp. As every minute went by, I began thinking my best option would be to turn back and just make it in within the time limit.

Although I didn't complete the course, I did have fun and I am glad I tried and am grateful for the chat after the race hearing about others' experiences.

Looking forward to more practice sessions in the coming weeks so that I can spend more time finding my way through the woods!
