9 AM

running/walking race 39:15 [4] 8.0 km (4:54 / km)
slept:7.5 shoes: Adizero Tempo 5

Cliff Hanger 8K, 4th M65-59. Started a few seconds behind Dee at the start and didn't catch her at the turnaround. The day will come when she will finish ahead of me in a race as her race pace each year is slowing less than mine. It was a good even effort. I don't think the two days of being out at Rim Rock taking photos took that much out of me. I accept the fact I'm slowing down.

Temp: 47F, windy from the south; but Cliff Drive (KCMO) protected us from the wind very well.

running/walking (walking/running) 1:00:00 [1] 1.0 mi (1:00:01 / mi)

Went to Rim Rock again to photograph and mostly watch the Big 12 Cross Country Championships. Saw Steve Hitchcock doing the same. Didn't see any KU Track alums from my era. OSU men and ISU women were impressive teams. Temp: about 35F, sunny.

strength/stretching 8:00 [1]

dynamic before and static stretching afterwards

running/walking 1:44:30 [2] 8.6 mi (12:09 / mi)
shoes: Patagonia EVERLong

Easy long run. 2 min run, 30 sec walk. Wore Patagonias, really stretches the ankles, so won;t do too many more long runs in these. Great lightweight shoe, but don't think my ankles and calves are ready for a shoe with the heel so low. Only coffee before run. Biggs bbq for lunch.
