Orienteering race 29:20 [5] 5.0 km (5:52 / km) +270m 4:37 / km
shoes: Yellow Mud Claw

BOK Saturday green course, set off quite cautiously as pain two days previous:didn't want to blow my league lead. Also had to stand in cold & rain at queuing start. Nailed every control pretty much spot on, sligh 10-second wavers at a couple. Didn't run all the way up the one big hill. Busting a gut later - splits reflect this - but too little too late as always - Clive 2:22 ahead. 5th, but 2nd in age, and league lead intact. sub 6 min kms not bad. Ben Maliphant won in just under 25 mins so sub 5 min/kms. Impressive! But he is young & Sheffield effect is kicking in... I remember coming back down south when up there & kicking ass.

Running 32:00 [3] 4.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: Mizuno Ovation

Road run in the dark - back to work today - first time since end November. Felt really fast & fit. Sadly inner left calf/ hamstring decided to start hurting after a long effort on a flat straight road - right Achilles (unusually) also played up. Stopped, stretched, no good, had to give up & walk home about 20 mins in the cold & dark. Hmmm. Felt v fit tho. Roads no good?

Hungover. Tried to walk with families but soaked within 20 mins. Battled the M6 home in atrocious weather. Glad to make it in decent time. Legs stiff & achey from disco & also prev 2 days running.

Charlie's Beer Trail Long-ish O near Sedbergh. Ran with Nick, then Simon (Neil dropped out, worryingly), then caught Paul T. with big effort, Simon joined us at the 3rd last control and we all ran in together wet but happy. Spent rest of day doing Acl-O, napping, drinking beer, eating, and finally dancing a lot, very tired, bed 1:30am hello 2014, M50!!!!!

Running (Fell Running) 1:00:00 [3] 7.5 km (8:00 / km) +480m 6:04 / km
shoes: Mud Claw 333

Long run with Simon. Very high winds & some bad rain / hail, on descent especially, made it an ordeal. Cagoule blown open. Hailstone hit eyeball - luckily not the one my contact lense was in...... desperate for shower & dry clothes after. Silly me - should have gone orienteering. Found out later a National weather warning had been posted. Hmmm.
