Score event (60 mins) - Mill Creek (brown / blue plus crags)

Hills, mud, rain, deep streams. But quite enjoyable nonetheless. Haven't done a score event where you get the map as you start for quite a while, and didn't realise that it would be possible to get all the controls so missed a couple fairly early, and another later. Also went to 34 a second time having forgotten I'd already been to it, which probably cost nearly 2 mins. Only other mistake was leaving 16 in slightly the wrong direction (15s).

In decent shape physically, though pussyfooting around a bit on some of the very steep slopes.

The Garmin only registered the climb as 202m, but there were some fairly big climbs that are just completely missing from the track. No idea why, but realise once again that it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Avian - round the small loop on the spur above Pinehaven - Avro. The loop is now pretty overgrown and difficult to locate. Ended up with lots of cutty grass scratches, and there was a lot of clambering over obstacles.

Physically fine. Had not intended to run today, but just felt like it.

Wearing both Garmins again. When Susan's read 2.00Km, mine read 2.11Km!

2 x 5 x the "other side" hill (due to ongoing logging at the top of the usual hill). Was going to do 2 x 4 but timed it and found it was only about 1-30 to run up.

Legs feeling good, lungs struggling. Got back to find that the British public is considerably dumber than expected - might be an interesting trip next week.

From Melling Bridge up the E. side of the river - Hill Rd - usual bush tracks through to Tirohanga - Normandale Rd - Harbourview.

Trying to keep a reasonable tempo, and largely succeeded. Sharpish pain in left kneecap going down the hill at the end, but it seemed to disappear quickly.

In decent shape and put a fair amount of effort in. Had to be a bit careful at times as road surface quite slippery and had to deal with trucks 4 times on Avro Road!

Johnsons Rd - Stokes Valley Ridge - Avro - Avian

Decent tempo all the way. Felt OK on the main climb, but towards the end the small climbs were starting to feel like hard work.
