Trail Run 2:37:02 [1] 8.4 mi (18:42 / mi) +914m 13:58 / mi

Climbing up Wheeler Peak pre-wedding with Ben and Pemi (dog). That makes the state high points in MA, NH, ME, TN, CO and NM. Really nice day, high clouds, cool but not windy, and great scenery. Trail wasn't too crowded, we pushed up and made the summit in 1:37, then made it down in about an hour, with some nice joggable sessions. Definitely felt 13,000 feet, though!

Run warm up/down 43:20 [1] 5.2 mi (8:20 / mi) +69m 8:00 / mi

A very Ari day. After walking from the airport to the hotel, I woke up, took a bus to Albuquerque, got breakfast, then took a train to Santa Fe, wandered around, went to the Georgia O’Keeffe museum, then took a bus to Taos.

Then I went for a trail run. The trail was a bit more of a run away than I’d thought, but more miles I guess.

Trail Run 1:04:39 [1] 5.6 mi (11:33 / mi) +448m 9:15 / mi

Hit the trail and passed a mountain biker, then went up. Felt the sun, felt 7500 feet, but felt pretty good otherwise. Definitely a bit of hands on knees on steep portions. Crested the top and wheeee downhill to the couple of steep climbs. Still so much less technical than New England. 8:30 miles were a breeze, even with some up mixed in. Then run home, pretty fast on the road.

Run warm up/down 9:00 [1] 1.0 mi (9:00 / mi)

Bus down a mile past the start of the 6k, but no Divvys there, so a quick jog up to the start.

Run race 23:39 [4] 6.0 km (3:57 / km) +16m 3:53 / km

November Project Sunrise 6k. I've done this in Boston a couple of times, but not in Chicago. Decent morning, 70, sunny, so not too hot, and I felt okay, but my legs aren't fully recovered from this weekend, for racing at least.

Went out pretty hard; Brendan said "we're going too fast." I drafted Brendan out in to the wind, but lost contact with him and the pack I was in around the turnaround, where it broke apart.

Struggled back from the turnaround, HR down a bit, just couldn't push, and getting pretty warm. About a km from the end I turned it up enough to push past the guy in front of me, who had passed me, in to the finish. A minute off the podium, so maybe that would have happened with fresher legs. I'll have to buy my own growler, then.

But after the race, the lake felt so, so good.

Wow, legs still tired. Cut this short with a race in the morning.
