Road cycling 30:20 [3] 10.0 km (3:02 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

To Bayswater for metro mtbo - came up the rail line rather then the river path as we knew the Park Run would have just started.

Road cycling race 38:25 [4] 10.0 km (3:51 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Entered Medium, but once we got going decided to do the Long. Missed the control West of the Start as just about everyone else headed there. Then followed Juffy and missed the first one next to the rowing car park. Decided then to get the far ones along the swampland path rather than follow Juffy up the OOB path next to Garratt Rd bridge. We then proceeded (unknowingly) to break the rules by coming back along a road which involved eventually crossing Garratt Rd. Bit of a procession around the rest of the course where we could outgun the mtbs on the roads, but lost time at the controls where we had to drop the bikes and hobble across the grass or sand on our road shoes. Saw quite a few people going through the oob retirement village. Afterwards we realised we had missed 128.

Don't know if anyone actually completed a 'clean' run with no forbidden routes.

Road cycling 33:30 [3] 12.4 km (2:42 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Return home via river path, stopping off to get bread on the way.

Road cycling 2:10:00 [3] 50.5 km (2:34 / km)

Usual Friday ride, strong SW wind to Freo, then Chas got a flat at Port Beach. After that a very fast ride up the coast, breaking the 40kmh speed limit through Cottesloe, overtaking cars. Crumpets at The Other Side, which is getting to be almost as crowded as The Daily.

Road cycling 2:08:00 [3] 48.6 km (2:38 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Around the river, up the coast to Cottesloe and via Grant St to The Other Side. New item on the menu - home made crumpets with berry jam and mascarpone.

Orienteering race 16:32 [4] 3.0 km (5:31 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 TrailRoc 255

Metro race at Churchlands. Shouldn't really have run against Dr's orders, but my competitive nature won out. Had to finish 1st or 2nd to overtake BH in the overall scores. I had to sprint past him to punch the first control (29) ahead, then decided up the hill to 27 was best, and quite glad to see him go the other way. Not sure where he went, but was able to execute my chosen route well and came away with the win. 29-27-30-9-23-22-20-26.

Road cycling 2:12:00 [3] 50.5 km (2:37 / km)

Around the river, and up the coast - except for Chas who took a shortcut to The Other Side. Nice morning.

Road cycling 2:28:00 [3] 59.0 km (2:31 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

To Warnbro Metro event, freeway path then Safety Bay Rd. I knew there would be a howling sou-westerly the whole way. It was just a case of selecting a gear I could pedal comfortably and not worrying about the speed. Hoped someone would come past - no-one did. Silently cursed the luck of all the people going the other way with the wind behind them.

Road cycling 2:37:00 [3] 60.0 km (2:37 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Friday group ride around the river and up the coast to Swanbourne. Breakfast at The Other Side, I got in first to take the last three muffins for myself, J and C.

On the way home we diverted to the Perth station to see the giant diver asleep, then to Langley Park to see the little girl giant wake up.

Friday Feb 6, 2015 #

Road cycling 2:05:00 [3] 50.7 km (2:28 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Around the river, had to chase the others as I started late due to nose bleed during the night, caught them at Swanbourne. Plenty of room at the Daily today, and zucchini muffins for everyone.

Monday Feb 2, 2015 #

Road cycling 2:05:00 [3] 50.7 km (2:28 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Around the river, quiet ride by myself. Lots of zucchini muffins at the Daily but I had a ham/cheese croissant instead.

Note
(sick)

After the ride I had a painful inflamed area on inside of knee, saw Doc who says it is cellulitis and put me on a double dose of anti-biotics.

NB My advice is not to look at the pics in the link, but if you do mine is only like the 2nd one - thank goodness!
