Tempo run round Burgh Heath. Attempting to get some structure to my training especially with the race on Sunday. Switchback 5 mile in Lloyds Pk.

4Min at almost max
1Min Jog.

6:54, 6:50, 6:39, 6:44, 7:29, 7:31.

Got tough towards the end but it goes uphill. Felt alright in the main.

Thought i'd do some hill reps after looking at the course for the Switchback 5 on Sunday. It goes through Lloyds Pk and Addington Hills. Decided on 7 laps in Nork Pk. Involved going up the hills, round and down the other side with a slight incline back to my start point. Each lap was 0.54 miles. had a 30 sec rest after each one.

Legs ached the next day, partly from the running and partly from wearing the innovates which I haven't worn for ages and they're quite minimalist.

Steady pace run with Chris on the old familiar route over the downs, round the back up to tattenham and back to work. Chris hadn't been out for a while and so comfortable jog for me and waiting a couple of minutes at the top of the hill.

My new long run route. Run to Beckenham Place Pk and do the Assembly league route and run home. Didn't find it to bad, but did get a little disorientated in BPK but got round ok and wasn't as far of course than it felt. The last mile was OK but started to feel a little fatigued towards the end. Haven't run 8 miles for some time.

Av pace was 7:58 so pretty happy. Every other mile was 7:35 ish so please with how I went.

Run home from training course. Go off train at Brockley and ran home via Sydenham and Lawie Road to make it 5.5 miles in total. A bit windy in places and not the most inspiring of routes....but it was a run.
Felt quite good but always do in the Boost Tempo's!
