Hill Running long 2:20:00 [2] 18.0 km (7:47 / km) +900m 6:13 / km
shoes: Inov 8 Mudclaw 300

Got dropped off at the ski centre in the Cairngorms. Up windy ridge to the summit of Cairn Gorm along to Ben Macdui and then back down to the ski centre. Taking it pretty easy. Very windy but visibility was great and the views were fantastic. Bit tired on the first climb but perked up afterwards. No garmin so distance and height gain measured off the map. Good to get some time in some rough rocky ground. Need to get better in harder terrain

Headtorch run with Helga. Getting lost on the golf course near the house we were staying in. Not feeling tired.

Road Running warm up/down (Track) 2:37 [2] 0.34 mi (7:42 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel Hyperspeed

Probably a bit short. Drills after.

Road Running tempo (Grass) 20:00 [4] 3.07 mi (6:31 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel Hyperspeed

20 minute tempo on the grass pitches at Saughton. Wet miserable and boring. Only me, Alison and Kamilla doing the distance session so running on my own

Road Running tempo (Track) 15:00 [4] 2.37 mi (6:20 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel Hyperspeed

Followed by a 15 minute tempo on the track. Nobody else fancied the second tempo so only one doing the session. Was supposed to be 30 minutes but couldn't face that long in such miserable weather. Probably the right call. Don't want to catch another cold just a couple of days after my last one. Even more boring on the track. Tempo session could be more interesting in a group of people of similar ability or on a nice trail route. Even an out and back on the WoL would be more fun.

Hill Running 40:21 [3] 4.14 mi (9:45 / mi) +310m 7:54 / mi
shoes: Salomon Sense Ultra SG

Managed to get enough work done over the last couple of days to have time and squeeze this in. Up Allermuir via Howden glen at a steady pace then easy on a steep direct way down. Army bunch were blocking the route I wanted back home through the forest so went down the field at the side. Scary angry sounding dog started coming after me and barking away until his owner came and got a leash on it. Almost crapped myself for a different reason today.

Road Running 40:45 [3] 5.15 mi (7:55 / mi) +109m 7:25 / mi
shoes: Asics GT 2000 #2

Feeling much better today. Steady road run round Oxgangs. Reduced to a shuffle for the final mile as I really needed a jobby. Slowest mile was an easy 7:34 to start before that.
