Back to fersit. Clockwise Ramsay route up the first two munros from the dam then back the same way. Trying and failing to find a decent line on the descent to the dam.

Bumped into Rob Jebb and family up walking on the same hills while on holiday and stopped for a chat

Waking up before 6am to head up north the messages coming in made it apparent this was now going to be a 24 hour Ramsay and Andy was struggling with his hip.

Got up to fersit for 10:30 on the off chance he picked up the pace. After that there was a lot of waiting around with Hamish and it was very hot. Didn’t eat or drink enough as the food I had with me potentially had to see me through to midnight on the leg and needed water to get over the first couple of hills. In the end Andy got in at 3 in a rough state. Hip injury meant he could hardly descend and after losing time in the mamores with a head torch disaster he’d spent a long time in the heat.

After more time sat in the sun with Andy for him to get a lift back we went to glen Nevis for a run. I was dead from the get go and had no motivation. After stopping had my normal long long run spaced out feel despite doing nothing and spent the rest of the evening trying to get as much food and water down as possible

Day off in the hope of my glute feeling a bit better for leg 3 of Andy’s Ramsay

Some running on the Lomonds with Tom Callan. Very enjoyable. Still not descending brilliantly but moving a bit more normally than yesterday. Getting a bit more sore in the final 10 minutes but feeling no worse the following day.

Flotterstone to carnethy and back with Alysha. Climbing feels relatively normal but very tentative and not moving well on the descents.

Having a bit of a play with poles. Felt like I looked very stupid with them. Not sure how convinced I am but I guess its hard to know on something so short.

(injured) (rest day)

Still quite sore. Better generally but still quite uncomfortable. Started to run but was moving awkwardly and feeling worse very quickly so bailed. I think tomorrow I might drive to flotterstone and do more of a hiking run since I think striding out and heavier impact hurts more. I think it is just bruising rather than anything worse though

Note
(rest day)

Probably needed after a big week. Mostly feeling pretty fine and no major stiffness in the legs walking about. Fuelling better than normal on the run probably means recovery is easier.

Fairly hefty bruise on my backside from the fall. Was quite uncomfortable through the night and the morning. Improving through the day but still fairly sore even walking around. Hopefully back running tomorrow though.
