On the Cairngorm ski club shift today - plays havoc with the run Windows!! Morning session up the hill but weather was vile so elected for a coffee instead! Then down to Badaguish for fitness training, weather improved so had an hour to fit something in!! Feeling a bit germy and annoyed I didn't get a longer run in this week. Need to get some kind of schedule going again.

Night O. Boat of Garten, Loch Vaa. Medium. TD3 (TD4 night ... Apparently!!). S set off a few minutes before me, I was meant to follow shortly behind, but somehow I was later starting and never caught her ... Which was a shame :-o ... So I set off to 1, fine and 2 fine, was too far left for 3 and never saw the loch which would have been a good clue!! So I confused the edge of the white for vegetation boundary and it all went downhill from there!!! Brain switched into worry mode for S, eventually relocated off small Lochan and found 3, drifted and overshot 4 and decided to bail. Had wrong reading glasses too. Got back and had stressful 15 minute wait before deciding to go and look for S, thankfully met her coming in with a total saviour from INVOC who had come across the whistle blowing distressed S!! My blood pressure was definitely up there last night!! Middle section definitely harder than expected. Hoping S not too scarred by the experience as she did such a fab job on the Nairn one.
I love running in forests at night with a headtorch, but this did not fill me with joy!!

Running 5 [3] 0.81 km (6 / km)
ahr:118 max:118

Run from finish to registration

Tuesday Jan 21 #

1 PM

Running 55:15 [3] 6.53 mi (8:28 / mi) +143m 7:55 / mi
ahr:141 max:175

Running the long way back from the garage after leaving the van (seems the radiator doesn't actually have anti-freeze in it, so water in radiator would have been freezing up, causing it all to overheat!!) Not impressed!!
Anyway, a mizzly misty run but at least legs had a bit more 'go' than yesterday.
Followed by a good weights circuit for lower body.

Monday Jan 20 #

4 PM

Running 27:15 [3] 3.01 mi (9:03 / mi) +47m 8:38 / mi
ahr:131 max:148

Easy plod in way home from work. Body not feeling the love but the brain was!
Bonus - didn't need head torch although pushing it a bit on the way home!
