Run race (SSSAA) 45:00 [5] 5.0 km (9:00 / km)
rhr:54 slept:9.0 (sick) shoes: grey brooks trail runners

The general pace started out very slow, ran in third for first quarter of race, and then got passed by Becky Carr and Hillary Quirrion ran behind them. Hillary broke away and Becky started kicking about a km from finnish was very tired and couldnt keep up. Ended up fifth behind Keltie, Carolyn Hoi, Hillary and Becky Carr.

Felt loose and positive. Running these longer distances I beleive has really helped. I was not nearly as far behind as usual. Last year Kelti would almost be changed when I was done, this year she was still bent over at the finnish when I finnished. The trail and the hills I think have narrowed this gap. Katherine Hall, Christina Groulx and Lauren Stoot also were much closer to leaders this year.

Had a churning stomack for last 1.8km.

[northern lights, sunup+jackrabbit, northern lights trails]

In general very happy with race. Ran hard. Feeling good except for runny nose that wont go away.
ran without spikes
