Running warm up/down 29:00 [3] 6.0 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Ascics Gel 1120

Running intervals (1km Intervals) 29:00 [5] 6.0 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Ascics Gel 1120

6x1km reps with 2 min floats

Did this session with Scotty out at Stromlo in the morning. Really strong wind out there made me think the reps would be slow but I really surprised myself with the times, except for the first one where I just cruised around.

3:12, 3:06, 3:08, 3:06, 3:03, 3:03

Had a chat with Scotty who reckons I should enter, just for the fun of it, the world cross trials...dunno if I want to put my ego out for a battering by getting lapped in a 4 lap course though.

Road Cycling long (Cotter-Uriarra Loop) 2:29:39 [3] 72.5 km (2:04 / km)
shoes: SH R075

Went on a massive bender last night and felt really good when I woke up so decided to solo Cotter Uriarra. Croused around with average speed a bit above 30km/h for most of the ride right up until I got back into canberra where I hit the wall massively. Ran into Jules as he was on his way to work had a chat but by then I was so hungover, sugar deprived and dehydrated I have no idea what about.

Haven't done a long ride in ages so it was nice to get out on the open road again

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]
shoes: Ascics Gel 1120

Running (Speed Training) 25:00 [3]
shoes: Ascics Gel 1120

Speed training session focused on technique. Looked specifically at keeping my chin level, body upright, a high leg-lift and shoulders relaxed. The final 50m of each interval was a full sprint.

Felt really a bit out of it today, like I was looking through a fog or something. But got through this session OK as its such an easy one. I also tried to chat up a woman whose dog tried to steal my drink bottle but she wasn't interested. Shame

Road Cycling (to-and-from training) 39:00 [3] 15.0 km (2:36 / km)
shoes: SH R075

Running tempo (20/20/20) 1:00:00 [3] 13.0 km (4:37 / km)
shoes: Ascics Gel 1120

20 minutes mid-pace, 20 minutes fast (3:54/km on hilly trails), 20 min mid-pace. Did this one with Em and Scotty and found it really easy - which is good as I'm only just getting back into training after a week or so off.
