8-mile trail race at Lincoln Mountain.

I approached this less as a real race (where I'd be making an effort to push my pace), and more as just a fun, supported training run with hills (my goal this summer is to get stronger on hills). I was able to get up the sucky southern hill without walking -- even passed a few people there.

It was a very small but fun race (most people did the 4-mile option). My finish stats were 16 / 25 overall, 5 / 12 female, and 1 / 3 age group (but they only gave out overall awards).

Excellent free beer, quesadillas, and five-minute chair massage afterwards.

I showered at the rec center in Castle Rock and then added probably another mile of meandering around at the outlet mall. :-P

Walked five laps on the indoor track because it's already 97°F outside.

Then I spent three hours doing yard work (and getting an unfortunate splotchy burn on my back due to sloppy sunscreen-smearing...). I can't believe how much time it takes to maintain a 12' x 12' patio / "yard" -- maybe because I do it so infrequently (weeding the pavers, sweeping, pruning bushes, etc.). Also, I finally planted the flowers I bought over Memorial Day weekend -- I *think* most of them are still alive. :-P
