Explored Ferguson Forest with the dogs and an ancient O-map.
Note
After a few weeks of wearing these progressive lenses, my preliminary conclusion is that they will be the most expensive piece of O equipment I ever buy.
They're working out great for reading maps as I had hoped, so I do "see" wearing them for O outings from now on. However, outside of O contexts I much prefer my other glasses with their wonderfully wide field of clear vision. The narrowness is mostly an issue in human environments where text, straight lines, etc, in the peripheral areas are so obviously fuzzy (grocery store aisles are the worst), and I just don't feel like accepting that as a compromise.
The good thing is it seems easy to switch back and forth between the two pairs of glasses, so I'll probably just wear the old ones most of the time then switch to the progressives a day or two before upcoming O events.
But will keep on with the progressives for a while longer anyway.
