Orienteering race (TIC BCN) 26:24 [4] * 3.9 km (6:46 / km)
shoes: Pink Asics

Ran the 2nd leg as didn'nt realise that we would have loads of time to get to the airport and Julia came back a long way in the lead and so went out quite relaxed ( but if I had messed up I would have probably panicked about people catching up). The first control was in the wrong place which I didn't think much about and just passed it off for my bad orienteering as didn't let myself think about it!
I had a very good run with no mistakes and kept up the pace until the spectator control area and just made sure I got it right. Felt pretty good running and really enjoyed the whole experience.

Orienteering race (TIC BCN) 1:13:03 [4] *** 5.2 km (14:03 / km)
shoes: Red Integrator

Controls 1 and 2 wer fine then messed up control 3 as went down larger re-entrant. Made the biggest mistake I have made in a long time at control 5 ( lost 9mins) and was very careful and followed the vegetation but did not go anywhere near far enough across the hill side and was loooking in totally the wring re-entrants but had been trying to avoid the green. Route choice to no. 6 was rubbish as hadn't calmed down after the mistake. Was then caught up by 3 catalunyans who I ran with until control 14 and the final climb. it was completely diferent terrain to anything I had ever run on recently and there was a lot of route choice due to the green everywhere Disappointed by the etime but could have bee better if we had actually trained on similar terrain.

Orienteering (Catalena) 40:00 [3] ** 3.0 km (13:20 / km)
shoes: Red Integrator

Pretty good contour technique practice again as all the vegetation had been removed but made it much more easier and simpler as less things to distract you from height judgement.
Pretty good oreinerring though wasn´t completely concentrating.
There was snow too and it was freezing but the forest weer pretty open and runnable.

Orienteering (Catalena) 1:30:00 [3] *** 8.0 km (11:15 / km) +400m 9:00 / km
shoes: Red Integrator

Went to a really pretty part of the pyrenees foothills. Started off with a contour only map with Julia alternating the legs to eah control and just geting used to the map. The forests are lovely and runnable though very hilly and the mud is horrible.
In the afternoon we did a course where the first half was all downhill and the second half was all uphill. My orienteering was really scrappy as not being accurate enough and staying in rough orienteering. Not using compass bearings out of the control to make sure that I am going in the right direction and not confident with the direction of things and the layout of the terrain. Also I need to remember attackpoints. Towards the end was in front of John due to route choice into controls.

Running intervals (UBOC) 38:00 [4] 5.5 km (6:55 / km)
shoes: Pink Asics

Not many people turned up to this training session so went for a hilly run around stoke Bishop for 3km. Then did HIll intervals - 3 long ( 2mins 30) and 3 short ( 30secs) with jog down recovery. Felt really strong and properly sprinted up the hill. Short but pretty good session.
