Mapping 30:00 [0]

Fours hours wandering the streets of Dunblane to get it finished. Surveyed Dunblane Primary School, the unfortunate reason why many people have heard of the city and after mapping dozens of schools in England surrounded by 10 feet prison fences and electronic gates I was somewhat surprised to see that the school was completely open to the public at all times. I liked this as most schools seem to be OTT paranoid.

Up Dumyat and down the back to watch the Ochil 2000's race. Skyhigh said as I went out that it wasn't going to rain today. It rained the whole time I was out, then a lot when I finished! More like two runs as I stopped for quite a while to support the runners, no sign of RogerG though... Managed to keep going up Dumyat but glad I didn't attempt the whole thing, as nice a route as it is.

Note
(rest day)

A little tired from yesterday, plus my left knee was quite sore after the run and ceased up in the evening. More reasons for taking the day off were not required.

Run - Terrain 1:09:44 intensity: (5:00 @1) + (10:00 @2) + (35:00 @3) + (15:00 @4) + (4:44 @5) 11.95 km (5:50 / km) +352m 5:05 / km

Have been half thinking about doing the Ochil 2000's on Saturday, so I thought it a good idea to test the water to see if it's a good idea or not. Didn't feel like driving anywhere so took off cross country from the house to find the nearest hill. Felt okay on the first hill (little) and bit better on the second (little bigger) but then then the legs just fell off, had no terrain strength at all to run down the hill home. Concluded that Saturday is probably not a good idea. Nice evening to be out and saw a fox, a couple of wee deer and a hare for my efforts though.

Short loop of Doune Ponds with Adam to warm down.

Run - Orienteering race 36:00 intensity: (1:00 @2) + (20:00 @3) + (12:00 @4) + (3:00 @5) 6.53 km (5:31 / km) +131m 5:01 / km

FVO WEE, Doune Ponds, 5.7km. Compared to the last few days I was moving okay today, though it may have been because it was pretty flat. Quite a bit of track and road running but also some lovely woods and a good course planned by Trevor (who also updated the map to show the wind blow). A lot colder and wetter than Austria!

Note

Just sort of ran out of time today, was thinking a road bike would be nice but it kept hammering it down. Tomorrow.

First time doing the Bridge of Allan loop for months and a nice evening for it, slightly muddier than I was hoping though (hence had incompatible footwear).

Some young ned was practising shots on the golf course and he'd managed to get about 20 shot within several metres on the fairway, fair juice. However he decided to hit another one after I passed him and it whistled within several inches of my head. Not much point in shouting "four" when someone is running with there back to you. Mind you, it was probably intentional...

Couldn't get out of first gear on the hills again, I've been blaming fitness and the altitude but it still doesn't feel right when I push a little harder - it's as if I have an air restrictor on my turbo and I can't get the revs up enough so am just getting lag. Will give it a bit longer before I start worrying.
