Stationary Bike 45:08 [3] 16.67 mi (2:42 / mi)

easy stationary bike. The plan is to run later today but I also have a dentist appointment to get some crown in, not sure how I will feel after that, I should be fine though.

one long map. made a couple of errors that resulted in pretty substantial time losses. mostly going too far up/down a hill and then having to deal with the consequences.

easy run from the high school. it is getting hot.

stretching + some exercises for my ankles because my shins were feeling a little on the splinty side of things. I also iced after this so hopefully that helped

3 Sprint maps, one of which I had previously dnfed because I got very lost and forgot zooming in was a thing. If only taking a closer look in real life didn't result in me falling down/tripping 80% of the time.

warm up with Jack before Wednesday Evening Series

Orienteering 35:05 [3] 5.0 km (7:01 / km) +85m 6:28 / km

navigationally was pretty sound except for a 30s mistake on 5-6 and a couple more hiccups on the course. The main thing holding me back was that my legs were feeling sluggish for the last half. It should be expected though since I have been running more this past few weeks than before.

The Main Mistakes:

throughout the course, I didn't cut trails on the yellow open for some reason.

on 6 I got caught up in the Japanese Garden, just running slowly through the trails

on 7 I was struggling to find the small tree and ran right by it because I didn't have a good attack point and wasn't very in touch with the map.

on 8 I made an extremely braindead move and took a longer route through the buildings and parking lot instead of running by the road. I didn't put this into Routegaget because I only realized after I put in my route that I ran through the buildings twice when I shouldn't have.

on 15 I made a navigational error that resulted from not looking close enough at the map to realize a fence blocked the way to a trail that otherwise would have been a better route. However, the fence was undeniable and I had to run back down the hill.

easy run in maple woods. I've been trying to incorporate more hills into my workouts because we seem to do a lot of them while orienteering.

Mini hill run. The first mile and a quarter were on a semi-technical trail, then the next mile was uphill where I did a tempo. the last 2 miles were a gentle cruise back down.
