Note

Today our 12 teen employees, supervised by Isak and Ethan, taught four orienteering classes. Our method is to have the teens develop and deliver the lesson plans themselves. Here are their reflections from yesterday. Three classes went well; one did not.

A good day today - 2nd day of the summer orienteering camp. We have 12 kids and two staff (Isak and Ethan). Yesterday they taught a class of very young kids (4-5 years old) using Animal O. It worked really well. They had a couple older kids too.

Today we had a meeting and talked about projects. Then Ethan had the kids work on the map of the library area. Then we took them to the woods where they trained for 3 hours. One kid got a little lost and I eventually found him on the perimeter road.

Tomorrow we will teach four classes: (1) a special needs group, (2) a grade 3-4 group, (3) a grade 5-6 group, and (4) a grade 4-8 group. There will be some training and some project work.
