Planner at the BUCS Relays. It all seemed to go well and I had some good feedback about the courses. "Always kept me thinking", "Very little path running", "Some good longer legs", "I couldn't work out what was going on (re. gaffling)"
As I expected the first couple of controls caught a few people out as well as the sections in the north and the areas of thicker vegetation especially after the spectator control. Shame there were a couple of mispunches on the womens course.
The map board/changeover system worked ok, a couple of people grabbed 2 maps and one (ad-hoc) team took the wrong maps. The small number of teams meant the races weren't that hard to follow so I'm not sure if the extra effort and slightly more complicated system was needed/beneficial?
Pleased with the number of people that turned up and I think the assembly area in the middle of the forest worked well and created a good atmosphere.
