Cross Training (Snowshoe Raid) 2:59:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon XCR

Snowshoe raid, woohoo. Our plan of buying cool gear, not training, and trying to look good while sick didnt really work out this year. Maybe I'm just not giving it a chance :)

Great course set up by bob miller and bash from ap, was even better than last years. Given our state, we ran a decent race, with only one real foul up near CP12 which we entirely missed. that would have been a good extra 90 points i think and we ran around there for 10 min searching. On the good side, we abandoned it after 10 min, instead of losing too much time. That was a good race choice considering we pulled into the finish seconds before the cutoff.

We ran really well down the homestretch. had a good kick out of the woods and along the road all the way to the crossing. we had a killer sprint back in passing another pair who was fighting us for position, then almost passing another. Was good to end on a high note.

All in all, a very fun day. Prob more so for me cause I wasnt sick as a dog like ericrox . Oh well, at least his water didnt freeze this time.

Snowshoe (and skating) 1:50:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon XCR

Snowshoe day in freezing rain. Good session for learning how our new snowshoes performed. Learned some good techniques for ascending, descending and traversing slopes. Snow was wetish and heavy on the shoes though, which sort of sucked. On the bright side, the shoes allow a very near to normal gait, which is a huge plus.
