Cycling long 4:30:00 [2] * 65.0 km (4:09 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel 1090

Something I wanted to do for a long time now: a big bicycle tour in southern Montreal, following the Saut-Laurent, the islands and the park there. Now I made it! Started in Vieux Port, visited l'île des Soeurs, les rapides de Lachine, got to eat a great lunch at a greek kermesse, went up to René-Lévesque park on Lac Saint-Louis, followed Canal Lachine almost back to start, switch to south shore to take a few snapshots of Habitat 67, then across the river to Parc Jean Drapeau where I followed the F1 circuit. And Back through the Jacques Cartier bridge and old Montreal. That's a pretty big circuit and actually the longest I ever ride, but it was almost flat on good pavement, so much easier than usual cross country.

Hiking (Coaching) 1:24:00 [2] *** 5.0 km (16:48 / km)
shoes: MT800 New Balance

Meet with Julien on the Mount Royal. He is a french student doing his last year internship in Montreal. He practices raid, and contacted John to get some orienteering. So John forwards me his message and here we go! I just showed him the Mount Royal and around, discussing O and the whereabouts.

I logged this as hiking, but in fact I was following him to observe his technique, then we would stop at each control to discuss the map and the technique, etc. So a long time for a very short distance.

Running warm up/down 28:00 [2] 5.5 km (5:05 / km)
shoes: MT800 New Balance

Forth and back to the cepsum.

Running 27:00 [2] 4.9 km (5:31 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel 1090

Canada National Day, a beautiful one, hot, sunny but not stormy as the past week-end. Decided it would be a good day to do my test, now that I have my aerodynamic haircut.

Unfortunately my legs felt very heavy from the beginning, and didn't feel better even after warm up. I tried to push a little, but I felt a bit sick whenever I slow down. Finally I called it a day and bypassed the test. I think I would have made it, but not sure in which condition - and it would not have been very significant if I had run with trouble.

Stretch/Core Strength 5:00 [1]

At least I got this part of the training right.
