Decided to get back on the bike today with the plan to head out on the bike track and suss out how I was traveling. Bit of a late start as Dave spent the morning replacing my chain, cluster and chain rings. We couldn't get the front derailleur working so ended up taking it to the bike shop. He also had trouble, with the same issues Josh was having trying to tune it pre-Geo. Anyway, ended up replacing the dderailleur and cable as well. Finally got out the door with Dave. All felt good except the trap on my right side was stiff. Made it all the way around Coot-tha with no issues except some tightness on my right side, and I'm avoiding getting up out of the saddle. I'm very excited about not having to get on the spin bike again!

Did a few 2 min efforts every now and then. Getting bored of the indoors.... I'll head out on the bike over the weekend hopefully.

Treadmill at the gym. Did 3 x 25 mins (15% incline @ 5.2km/h) with 5mins 0% incline between. HR sat in the 170's for the incline bits so I was spent by the end.

Increased the intensity and resistance from the last couple of days so didn't last the 90 minutes I'd planned.

I joined the dark side today by joining a cheap weekly membership gym today about 300 meters down the road. It's brand new so all the gear is in great condition. I jumped on the treadmill and did 5 x 10min at 5.7pm/h with a 15% incline, with 2min at 0% incline between as rest. As it turns out it's really hard and I had to decrease the speed for the 2nd half of the 4th and the 1st half of the 5th to 5.5pm/h. HR was sitting around 175bpm for the 10min bits. I also managed to break into a jog a couple of times, but will wait at least until next Monday to get into running properly. Legs jelly for the walk home.

Went and found some steep hills to walk up with Dave on the Chapel Hill side of Mt Coot-tha. I can't run yet but it won't be long until I can on the uphills, and then the flats. Bit longer for the downhills though.

Watched the last 70kms of last nights tour stage. Exciting stuff. I changed the seat before I started but the damage had already been done yesterday. My. Butt. Hurts. Geez they took a long time to do the last 5kms! I felt it on the legs too.

Righteo, I'm back on here and I'll try and stay on. I'm just so busy.....

Set the spin bike up comfortably which took a while, then watched last night's tour stage. Had planned for only one hour but they took longer to finish than I'd expected. Good to be back.
