The last O-Tuesday in Keramika map. Started in good speed, soon started to make small mistakes - 3rd CP - 10'', 5th - 10'', 6th - went too right - 30'', then made huge one to 7th CP - climbed not enough to the hill and started to search too early - 2' mistake. Then got distracted by this mistake and made more - 9th CP - 1' (didn't find the trail), 12th - 1', 15th - 30''. 5'20'' of mistakes in total, too much...

Ran 3.89 km.

2 loops in VP. Quite not easy - maybe forgot how to run after two weeks of rest. After 1st loop felt really weak and barelly moved. Just after middle of 2nd loop felt better.

O-Tuesday in Žemieji Paneriai. Quite good race: 3rd CP - 30'' mistake (10'' for starting climb to the hill too right, 20'' - lack of map reading in CP area), suprisingly no mistake to 10th CP, and huge error to 13th CP - 1'20'' worth (started to search for a CP too early and didn't notice that should cross trench first, near CP). This mistake prevented me from winning. Made some 10'' worth garbage mistakes (each) to 11th and 12th CPs (was lucky with 12th CP really due forest cutting). 2'10'' of mistakes in total. From 13th CP started to feel new blisters on both heels (something wrong went with shoes again) - now will cancel participation in Sunday's race, don't want to suffer during running with sore heels.

Orienteering race 1:28:07 [4] *** 10.5 km (8:24 / km)
ahr:173 max:202 spiked:19/22c slept:8.0 shoes: VJ Twister

Klajunas cup, Kuklių forest. The longest course in my life. 1st CP - 1', 9th - 1'30'' (got caught on parallel features) and epic failure to 11th CP through marches - got lost - 8' mistake. From 11th to 16th - with Audrius, suffering at maximum (max hr 202 was achieved in this interval I guess). To 18th was already tired and blisters on left heel made running painful. Poor performance. Ran 12.78 km in total.

Route (I was suprised how precisely gps route was adjusted on map - from 1st to 7th CP almost no corrections needed, from 7th to 18th only small corrections):

O-Tuesday in Raisteliai. Started easily, because doubted about legs (still feel some pain - in left shin, both knees and both thighs), but everything was fine. Largest mistake on 6th CP - didn't see the prism, 1'20'' mistake. Garbage mistakes on other CPs - 1st - 10'', 10th - 10'', 11th - 20''. 2' in total.

Running race (marathon) 4:03:28 [4] 42.19 km (5:46 / km)
ahr:166 max:190 slept:7.5 weight:67kg shoes: Nike Air State Run

Vilnius marathon 2011, second try, second failure to finish under 4 hours. I hate my legs!

The story: started easily and tried not to run faster than 4:50/km on flat surface, was slowing myself down and it was quite easy to run. The 1st surprise was in second refreshment point (9km) - there was no my electrolytes bottle! Lost some 30'' trying to understand the mess, and drank only a little bit water. First loop done in 52'16''. In the beginning of second loop was caught by 3h30min leader and his gang, and after running few meters with them noticed that some person 30m ahead is running with similar bottle like mine. Did speedup and caught him - I was right, some fucking frenchman took my bottle and apologised that "organizers gave it to him" (while organizers at 19km told me that he took himself - they started to procted individual nutrition more carefully). Only 1/3 litre of electrolytes were left at this point, so ran with a bottle and drank bit by bit for some 4km. Some 18km - surprise suprise - 1st precramp in left shin. And the end of 2nd loop started to feel those precramps more often, in both legs. Second loop did in 54'45''. In the beginning of third loop, on the bridge, even tried massage legs, but it barelely helped - after some 0,5km suffered first good cramp attack to left shin. Tried too use safety-pin, but it didn't help much. After 1km more - another cramp attack to left shin, now - very strong indeed. Jabed with safety-pin to again, suffered for some time and tried to move again, but quite slowly, because had to beware cramp attacks. Finished 3rd loop in 64'48''. 4th loop moved more or less without cramp attacks, but started to feel small weakness, so moved very slowly - some 6:30/km and needed to use my strong will to move forward. 1st refreshment point in the middle loop refreshed me, but after 1 km more started to feel very strange pain - felt that some two front parallel muscles in both thighs became very tense, the feeling was that both legs will tear apart. Was lucky that after few hundred meters there was wet sponges point, so cooled down both thighs with cold water and that instantly helped. 2km until finish - just another extremely intense cramp attack in left shin - have never seen muscles moving in the form of sea wave. In the last km stopped many times because cramp completely prevented running. The last intense attack happened some 100meters before finish - couldn't do anything, I looked pathetic I guess.

So now I can surely add a seal to my passport - "Marathon is not for you". GPS counted some 42.7km. Burned some 3076 kcal. One positive thing - I still can walk :)

O-Tuesday in Ližiškės. Many smaller or larger garbage mistakes - 2'30'' in total, on 8 controls, but no real ones. A little bit too much for a victory, but I should say it was quite good race - especially because of quite smooth direct run from 50th to 41th CP - 1st split even with some 10'' garbage mistake. Ran 5.89km.
